We have so much good evidence for cash transfers but so many just refuse to accept that those in poverty can make good decisions.
Looking at his Wikipedia page I'm not sure he'd know much about Wolvo in the 80s ... but fwiw my recollection is different. I suspect census information of some description would point out a few holes in his memory.

There are more parkrun *volunteers* than anti-asylum protestors (and counterprotestors). Let's hear their voices & stories! What are they hoping for this bank holiday?
The story of the weekend looks like about 3000+ people protesting asylum, 2000+ counterprotestors while 210k people do parkrun
BTW am currently Allies at War by Bouverie, would recommend as insight into diplomacy ... within context of WW2

If a government with over 400 seats and 4 years left to govern cannot summon the courage to level with the public on social care then I despair at the capacity of our political system to ever deliver the change we need.
