In the end, I repurposed environments & many of the boss mechanics from these pitches for the 8-Bit Adventures 2 Free DLC.

For example, the Zelda II inspired battle saw Link level up mid-fight every time he K.Oed the player. This idea was re-used for the Possessed Warrior boss.

These pitches were different to the one for Nintendo, as these were made to be springboards for further discussion.

We got some incredibly kind feedback, but ultimately the companies involved decided against letting us make these ideas a reality.

For Xbox, I wanted Banjo & Kazooie. I conceived a side-quest that involved a worldwide hunt for Stop 'n Swop eggs + a boss battle with the bear & bird (controlled by Gruntilda from within L.O.G's game factory).

I also spoke to Grant Kirkhope about doing an original song!

For PlayStation, I wanted to incorporate a side-quest with Dart from The Legend of Dragoon, involving a 3-stage boss battle that culminated in his Divine Dragoon transformation.

Defeating him gave the Addition Augment, allowing the player to attack multiple times like in LoD.

The amount of documentation, assets, & planning for this was immense (including some amazing music from @carfonu.bsky.social that I'll share further below). These would've been some of the most over-the-top & varied boss fights you've ever seen!
