Just a thought: How about we stop shaming the poor for buying things that may not be essential, and start shaming the rich for making a profit off things that are essential?

I mean, I hope it will get good transit connection if it’s not in the centre of Toronto

“[Artemis astronaut] Hansen appears to treat French as part of the job of representing Canada and Air Canada’s chief seemed to treat the language as optional.”
I think if I post this on threads I will literally be clobbered with a proverbial mallet
should we find out
That move is purely political. He wants the common people to believe he’s helping them, while he’s actually doing nothing and simultaneously subsidizing the fossil fuel industry. This will lead to a global climate collapse in the next few decades if we don’t end our reliance on oil ASAP.
Electoral reform has nothing to do with the constitution lol
Disappointed (not surprised) that the Liberal Party voted against supporting proportional representation at their convention.
What better time than now to go beyond the Anglosphere and learn from better systems in other countries?
:)
Wireless headphones are such a big quality-of-life improvement. I’m always surprised to see people with wired earbuds walking around (let alone jogging).
"with poorer bus connectivity than the rest of montréal island, access to REM's anse-á-l'orme branch expected to be difficult"
there, fixed the title
The first astronaut in history to speak French while en route to the moon — Canada’s very own Jeremy Hansen 🇨🇦
Of course he does 😆
Avi’s grandfather had once told his father, “‘son, not in my lifetime, but maybe in yours.’”
“Recently, my dad told me the same thing: ‘not in my lifetime, maybe in yours,’” Avi shares.
“Well dad, I refuse to tell that to my kid. We cannot wait another generation. We’ve got to start winning now.”
Lewis: “The prime minister is very popular at the moment. He’s a smart guy, and many Canadians still want to give him the benefit of the doubt. That’s fair.”
“But I think when you connect the dots, his moves do not add up to the vision that Canadians truly want and deserve in this perilous moment.”
Poilievre quote tweets JK Rowling saying « what she said » after JK writes: « Today's ruling by the IOC means a welcome return to fair sport for women and girls, but I'll never forget the scandal of Paris 2024, when people who consider themselves supremely virtuous and progressive publicly cheered on men punching women. »
Wow. Fucking disgusting. Pierre Poilievre is such a loser, man.
Note to everyone: if your rights become politically unpopular, Poilievre will throw you under the bus in a heartbeat, apparently.
Congrats Paris, which just elected another socialist party mayor over the right wing candidate.
This means continuity with Anne Hildago’s world leading interventions that have transformed Paris from a car-clogged, noisy, polluted city into a rapidly greening pedestrian/bike utopia.

Gonna be honest, I find it extremely weird and emblematic of brain-rotted "bothsidesism" that media is near-unanimously celebrating a podcast in which Poilievre agreed as Rogan spouted some disturbing lies.
Rogan said lifesaving COVID mandates were ridiculous. Poilievre explicitly agreed.
The cuts are disgusting honestly…
Canada Post, CBC, and CRA are crucially important crown corporation for the public sector and Canadians…
Adding on that, indigenous affairs and public works are essential.
Carney’s just a fucking conservative in a red shirt, so tired of it already.
Rogan and Poilievre are talking shit about people who impose their will on others. Poilievre specifically emphasizes trusting people to build their own lives.
Frankly rich, given conservatives across Canada are controlling the lives of trans kids and intervening between them and doctors.
Stop I’m jealous
pedestrianized street during a snowfall, with a crowd of people.
people waiting in line for food.
maple sausage sandwich.
maple taffy.
good vibes, good music, and good food at cabane panache, a sugar shack festival. (and wellington street is pedestrianized for the event!)
march 19-22 in verdun, #montreal
Rogan mentions cannabis being legal in Canada. Poilievre replies, “been legal for 10 years, yeah.”
Rogan applauds Canada for voting to legalize marijuana. He says it's about "personal freedom." Poilievre agrees it’s about personal choice.
(Poilievre voted against cannabis legalization lol)
