Grew up in the foothills of NC seeing these similar views daily on my drive to/from high school. Took them for granted then, but now look back quite fondly. Thanks for sharing.
EV trucks (sans cyber) are my weakness #slateev
Lemons to LEMONADE.
Over the winter an errant kitchen pipe at our Virginia Airbnb failed due to freezing temps (water was fully off but it found a way). Kitchen flooded when water was turned on for incoming guests.
But we’ve come back better and stronger with this reclaimed brick flooring ❤️
Buttercups Bo Bo (Eastville, Virginia) best breakfast sammich I’ve had to date
Morning after the US presidential election I got a trolling message from a MAGA high school classmate, giddy over the results. I ignored it. They’re employed as a sales manager for a car dealership (overseas brand) in my NC hometown. I sometimes wonder how these tariffs are impacting them.
a fine dinner view at The Shanty in Cape Charles, on the Eastern Shore of Virginia
Night bandits have infiltrated the waste disposal units at our remote Airbnb on the Eastern Shore of Virginia. Countermeasures have been deployed.
Spring break road trip mission accomplished
Charleston’s Lowland… best burger I’ve enjoyed thus far
Swinging through Charlotte to enjoy the ACC Tournament championship game with big bro driving up to UGA to join ❤️ Younger bro dropping by University of South Carolina later this week to check off a few things for fall freshman year.
On the way to Charlotte to see Duke/Louisville in the ACC Tournament championship game. Quick pitstop at Odell’s Sandwich Shop in my NC childhood hometown. Youngest son is now a fan of the iconic Big Moe. Now a whopping $5 (cash only) but still a mighty fine deal.
for a few hours this afternoon the ACC basketball tournament will remind me of being a kid in small town 80s North Carolina
Ready to watch this kid take flight ❤️

Built out my Old Town EPDL+ just the way I wanted—pedal + electric, 100Ah battery for LiveScope, BlackPak Pro for storage, and even a JBL Clip 5 stereo for the ride back. Dialed it in with Dean, Kevin & the OC Kayak crew.

And just today I relayed admirable tales to a longtime coworker on the pros of working alongside quality industry professionals like Jess and Colin.
And I wish I had a more eloquent way to sum all that up. Industry shakiness sux. But the Campbells very much don’t.
I also recall a particularly fraught and frantic time in the history of BHG where Colin approached me with “Dave, what can I do to help us all get through this?” …and this was while a number of other talented colleagues had quickly exited to ready their portfolios and resumes.
To this day I relay the story to MICA Illustration student game-industry-hopefuls of the importance of showing up and confidently saying “if given the opportunity I’ll show you what I’m capable of”. And then I show your LinkedIn accomplishments.

Older bro is currently nearby at University of Georgia ❤️
