Funny enough, I tried the Union troops with contrast, but they just didn't work at all for some reason. Sorry to hear you had the same problem.

I have Union ACW, and I found them much easier than the French. Was it the size, or the detail on them?
Ooo, amazing, same here, but love painting, very therapeutic after a stressful day ๐ and that was another ruleset I was thinking of getting today, but I already overspent ๐คฃ maybe Broadside or Warfare I'll get that, and Burrows and Badgers and Silver Bayonet.
Best of luck. I'm gonna try and make my Napoleonic stuff next few weeks, then go back to painting my epic scale french.
That's awesome, my mate was thinking of making up an army but with 6mm models instead.
Oh cool, take it the 15th Cent are Perry? 100 years or WOTR?
I was so tempted to get the Wargames Atlantic epic French Army Agincourt set. To use for other Western European armies.
Quite the haul at Salute today! Four Napoleonic sets, a ton of 2D terrain pieces, and some Union General + Staff Officers. Pretty happy I got everything I wanted all things considered.
What was your purchases today?

Just over a week to go til Salute! Who else is going, and what is on your shopping lists? ๐
Mine is mostly Napoleonic Portuguese reinforcements, and 2D terrain (cause I don't have enough storage room for 3D terrain, unfortunately).
Ah, man it's Ancient Hastings ๐ awesome looking battle!
You kinda need a balance of both. Ordering your army about is one thing, but other factors like shooting the enemy, fighting hand and hand, retreating, all should be done on luck, and the discipline of your troops.
Hope you didn't lose the King's Colours?? ๐คจ
Same here, writing my own Black Powder era rules atm. Love Black Powder, but the Orders page in the Black Powder rules is veeeerrrrrry long ๐ต
Mmm, Normans, great Victrix kit.
Went to a chat with Abnett, he talked about this movie. He said it was crap, but he also wrote two versions. One with more action and larger fights, etc, and the one we got. He thought the first one would be too expensive to make. Turns out, the one we got was the dearer version ๐คฃ
Lovely cavalry force! I'm tempted to get some Napoleonics in 10mm.
Thank you, I bought it that day in fact, during the Battle of Evesham reenactment. It was a blistering hot day, so it kept me cool, and kept my head well protected from swords and arrows from those cheeky baron soldiers ๐
It's fun nonsense to read, though. Just read your review on the Wuttemburg army, I really need to check out Piano wargames ๐
My favourite hat ๐
Looking good! ๐ The red uniformed ones in the middle, what are they, if you don't mind me asking?
Had a good look at your website, amazing stuff! General De Brigade looks to be my fave. Skirmish games like Sharp Practice are cool, but you just can't beat the sight of whole armies on the table ๐
I really don't mind simpler, if it means I can get more minis in battle, all the better. And yeah, they look great. I'll have to get some and compare Victrix too
As someone who bought a box of Duchy of Warsaw line infantry, I'm very impressed with them. Look forward to seeing your review.
Also, the rest of your collection is top notch.
Yeah that's what I thought, they fought side by side at Borodino, as I've read, along with other German states. The Bavarians lost an entire cavalry force at the Great Redoubt.
Think I'll add a few other German states to the army too.
๐ I knew wargaming was an old hobby, but wow! Now I wanna see your Punic Wars collection of a thousand models, cause holy hell. You can't mention and not show it all ๐
Amazing, I didn't know another company did 28 hard plastic Bavarians. Thank you ๐ I was gonna get some Front Rank for my Portuguese, mainly command figures.
They are beautifully painted, all of them are. And 600, wow, the largest army I have is normans, about 300 or so; rookie numbers ๐
Amazing! The infantry the Victrix kit?
Thank you kindly. I can see British and Austrian flags, what other armies are there in this beautiful collection?
There you go.
Would love to see some Napoleonic armies, pretty please? For inspiration!
I have a kit of Bavarians from Victrix and a box of Duchy of Warsaw from Perry's. Normally I'd play them as two separate armies, but I decided to combine them into a single, french allied army.

My own chaos marine force was a renegade force, kinda stopped cause the new chaos minis looked too chaos-y. With these, they'll be making a comeback ๐
