I walk by this sign almost daily. While we should fight for others’ rights (human & nonhuman) regardless of threats to ourselves, this sign's sentiment reminds us how quickly state-sanctioned oppression expands & why we must work collectively & urgently to dismantle all exploitation/subjection.

#CollapseResilience Quick Tip: whenever we make a batch meal, defrost something, or need to use up an ingredient quickly, we write the name of the item & the date we made/defrosted/bought it on a piece of paper we keep on the fridge.

Saves money, reduces food waste & increases food resilience!

Our recent sprouting workshop was a delightful success!

Workshop presenter Sue S. led us through the basics of sprouting, followed by a tasting. Sprouts sampled included clover, alfalfa, radish, lentils, and mung beans.

Have you tried sprouting? What's your favorite?

Fundamentally transforming how we humans live on earth can initially feel scary, esp. since we’ve been trained to believe that “less” means sacrifice & suffering. But living w/in ecological & ethical limits actually brings great freedom, joy & connection.

How are you joyfully living w/ less?

Taking meaningful action to fight fascism, the climate emergency, and all the other crises facing us is going to require us to embrace discomfort, sacrifice, and risk. And it will be a lot less scary and hard if we do it together.

Here’s another handy tool for accessing water in an emergency: A Sillcock key allows you to access the handleless water faucets you can find on the outside of many commercial, industrial, and public buildings.

We have one in our car kit and one for our go-bag.

They’re inexpensive and useful.✋🐾🌍💚

#CollapseResilience means remembering: our economic, healthcare, food, transportation & other systems aren’t set in stone. They were built—and can be rebuilt.

We can choose cooperation, care, and community over profit + exploitation.

Let's start with our daily choices.✋ 🐾 🌍💚

Stable access to essential medications is becoming more uncertain. Fascist policies strip away healthcare protections, and wars, climate chaos & corruption disrupt global supply chains.

This week’s #CollapseResilience Challenge: stock extra medications for yourself, your kids & your pets. 🧵 (1/2)

Soy curls are a must for your deep pantry. They’re made from the whole soybean and are a good source of protein and fiber. And they’re versatile. We use them for sloppy joe’s, stir-frys, casseroles, stews, curries, and more.

What’s your favorite way to use soy curls?

Fascists want us to believe empathy is weakness. But empathy is resistance + liberation. The US's foundation of capitalism, white supremacy, patriarchy, & speciesism normalizes cruelty. Let’s build multispecies communities of care + mutual aid as a strike against cruelty & domination. ✋🐾🌍💚

✔️ Begin w/ a few food-safe gallon jugs.
✔️ Work up to larger containers (5, 15, 55 gal).
✔️ Store water wherever you can.
✔️Follow safety guidelines.

Collapse isn’t a sudden event. It’s the breakdown of systems built on warmongering, capitalism, white supremacy & extraction. The ecological destruction, violence, political chaos & economic hardships are all connected. Resilience = rejecting those systems + creating new ones based on mutual care.
