As you all know myself and 33 others were fired from Rockstar Games in what we believe was a ruthless and illegal act of Union Busting. We're fighting this tooth and nail. If you are able, please consider donating to our fighting fund so we can hold them to account!! 🌱✊

Our hearts go out to those hit by layoffs at Iron Galaxy. You, and we all, deserve better.

Healthcare is a major piece of leverage when it comes to bargaining. So often it's the "carrot" used to keep workers in line and compliant. But if you could get your healthcare through your union membership, not where you work? That'd certainly change the dynamic.
Did you know that union membership is a pathway to healthcare? Our Freelancing Committee has been taking steps to make it a reality and it's one of their major goals. Until the US gets universal healthcare, you deserve coverage. Studios shouldn't be able to wiggle out of a system THEY helped create.

And today i see that companies are pivoting to the model i warned peolle about back then- freelancing only. No more stability, no reaponcibility, no more negotiation. Just take it or leave it. This is designed to demoralize you. To rat race you. The solution is not git good, it is togetherness.
this applies not just to the games industry and it's starting to feel like it might, in fact, be the Biggest Reason
drawing of a burning warehouse “all you had to do was pay us enough to live”
people will tell you it’s complicated but it’s really not
Lmao I remember a supervisor telling me this and then I did internal training on managing contractors and it said explicitly that contractors cost 2/3rds what a full time person was. It’s not complicated at all. Full time, unions, pensions, everything that’s been stolen from the working class.

You deserve unions too!!
Uni the cat meme saying “this cannot continue”
“I should be paid for the work that I do” should not be a high bar to clear, and yet in the games industry it routinely is.
Correct!!!
What do we want?
BASIC DECENCY!
When do we want it?
RELATIVELY SOON!
