Found this Orange-crowned Warbler (of the L. c. orestera subspecies) today while I was out testing a teleconverter with my lens. Online pundits pan the use of the 2X TC for being too soft…what do you think?

Good local bird alert! I was finishing up work and a WhatsApp alert came across the wire that an AMERICAN DIPPER was seen not 15 minutes prior and only 8 minutes from where I was! I raced over to find a friend already on-scene and we began a vigil. He soon left and I remained. 10 minutes later…
