i just had professional photos taken for work and i have never felt more like some sort of awkward duckling blinking into the headlights

i’ve always been very uncomfortable in front of cameras, would love to do some photo shoot experiments with friends to get over that (and make some art)

while I’m trying to find a relationship to work, effort and performance that isn’t rooted in suffering, I’m using that felt sense of “busyness” as a metric and a goalpost to let me know I’m going the wrong way

friend wants to hang and my first thought is “oh idk im so busy”? ah, time to recalibrate

this led to me getting caught up in the feeling of overwhelm and badly managed time, morbidly enjoying how I made myself suffer through work and equating that with being good/successful

funnily enough, now that my mother is retired, she loves to admonish me for working too much

busyness is such a terrible and useless state to be in, almost always counteractive to productivity

it’s also somehow a highly prized state in my family, can’t be a human of any value if you’re not busy, so for some time I tried to cultivate business in order to feel like my existence is valid

Only leafy greens, as my apartment + balcony face north-north east and I just don’t get enough sun for most things. Would love to grow veggies and fruit, too, but even just growing a variety of herbs and my own salad is already so satisfying and fun!
