Evolutionary relationships of Metazoa within the eukaryotes based on molecular data from Porifera | Proceedings of the Royal Society of London. Series B: Biological Sciences Recent molecular data provide strong support for the view that all metazoan phyla, including Porifera, are of monophyletic origin. The relationship of Metazoa, including the Porifera, to Plantae, Fungi and unicellular eukaryotes has only rarely been ...

Evolution of Cell Adhesion Systems: Evidence for Arg‐Gly‐Asp‐Mediated Adhesion in the Protozoan Neoparamoeba aestuarina ABSTRACT. Developmental processes in multicellular organisms require structural elements, such as adhesion molecules, to stabilize cells at functional positions. In vertebrates, a series of extracel...

Springer Nature Discovers MDPI – The Strain on Scientific Publishing Home page for the paper ‘The Strain on Scientific Publishing’ by Mark A Hanson, Dan Brockington, Paolo Crosetto and Pablo Gomez Barreiro

Has someone found a good way of getting money out of research? Don't stop it.

Copy it.

APC charges cost billions. MDPI leads with over $1.7bn (est. 2015-2023). Springer-Nature ‘only’ got $1.1bn and so what do they do?

They copy MDPI.

The curse of “Open Acce$$”. A good idea hijacked and killed by the same corporations that create the problem it purports to solve. Now anyone publish anything, no matter how irrelevant.

OA$$, as it is now, has to end. There are better models for making science open and accessible (e.g. SCIELO).
