Hi everyone! I've really been liking this new place, so thought I'd do an intro. My name is Mike and I do ecology and epidemiology stuff. Our fieldwork season is about to go into high gear, so I'll post some photos from the glorious wetlands and bushlands around Sydney as we go.

I spend time with Indigenous migrants: Adivasi domestic workers in Mumbai, Pacific Islander seasonal workers in Sydney, and Central American workers in NYC. Migrant workers are fighters, knowledge-holders, and community leaders who are providing stewardship in times of crisis.

I'm grateful to tell the story of my great-grandfather, a lascar who drowned on the job, and my family migration to Mumbai, Sydney & NYC, alongside stories of today's migrant workers in those cities struggling to stay afloat amid precarity & climate disasters.
