Congratulations to all the cool kids who made the list today, I'm in good company
Iβm still so damn proud of this show.
Fun behind-the-scenes fact:
Previously eliminated contestants would wait up in the hotel lobby to greet and commiserate with that nightβs elimination.
An attempt at drawing an owl in MS Paint. A small child would likely draw a better owl. It looks a bit like a potato with something vaguely resembling eyes, feet, wings, and feathers. A text bubble says "Hoot" and it is the nicest drawn part of the picture and that isn't saying much.
"Draw the rest of the fucking owl"
Okay.
Turn based sickos eating good.
I've been VORACIOUSLY playing and cannot recommend enough @iridiumstudios.bsky.social 's People of Note and @outerloopgames.bsky.social 's Dosa Divas -- you turn-based RPG sickos need to get in on this, you can even get them in a bundle on Steam! store.steampowered.com/bundle/72037...
Ahhhh congrats on the baby!!!

Dosa Divas good. It's like a JRPG mixed with a warm hug. And a lot of puns. Which is really all I want.

My "is a hot dog a sandwich" take is M:tG is a hybrid live service game like Halo. Sure, you can play with your commander deck whenever you want (like Halo campaign). But draft? Wizards needs to print cards, you have to pay each time you want to draft a new set. Like Halo MP, there's ongoing costs.
I think most players these days would view it via the lens of not "developer operations cost" and more through the lens of "player cost." My intuition is most players don't think of an MMO as a live service game because it has a subscription, not funded solely through mtx. Mtx is the common thread.
I think I broadly agree with you. A live service game is one where there's an ongoing operational cost to keep the game functional & playable (Matchmaking, dedicated servers, etc).
There is form of ongoing monetization to pay for said service (Subs, mtx, etc), maybe in addition to an "entry fee"

Framing the request as a "maybe I made a mistake, please correct me!" tends to help invite the corrections, especially if there's a power dynamic between us (because I definitely do make mistakes!) :)
Giving them written material that they can digest and review async tends to give them space to reflect on any delta between us. *Then* a meeting to hash out that delta can be a bit more productive. Or sometimes a quick DM of "OHHH that's what you meant okay rad" is all you need.
Agile's definition of done framing is really useful for me here. When I think there's misalignment, I take the time to write a super specific bullet point outline of what I think "done" should look like, and ask "Hey, I think this is desired outcome of what we talked about- what am I missing?"
βTwo people have a conversation, agree on a plan, and leave with 3 different plansβ is SUCH a mood.
The Pitt went straight for my emotional jugular with that last scene.

God I really should make a baldur's gate 3 house around the dark urge.
I feel this so deeply in my bones right now and I'm still only a baby indie π
At some point I should stop being surprised. But every time it's *still* surprising.

Light at the front of the tunnel!
β¦oh wait.
I don't actually know what the discourse is but my mom is cool and I want to brag okay.
Solitaire is a mom game. I know this because my mom woulda been the Faker of Solitaire if it was an esport. You gotta respect her grind, she played a few hours after work every day. She played a two deck variant called forty thieves because her win rate was too good and she got bored. Legend.
