Every Mennonite knows the story of the Dutch Anabaptist named Dirk Willems who ran across Frozen River to escape capture. His pursuer fell through the ice and Willems sent back to rescue him. He was then rearrested, tortured and killed for his belief.

I’ve spent the rest of my adulthood up to this point trying to make up for that stage in my life
Having some not very christian feelings about the church that fired me having to hire their 4th pastor in 8 years (across two positions).
I did the adulting thing and signed up for therapy, everyone please clap!
Today we’ll have a funeral for Papa at the funeral home and then a graveside service in the cemetery he wanted.
That church is very conservative and we have a lot of queer people in our family. We would have done it for him, but it would have been very hard on a lot of us.
Today on Ways Christians Lie™️ an Uncle passed away, he wanted to be buried in the same cemetery with his mother. We were told the funeral would have to be held in a specific church (by the pastor of said church)… until we talked to the funeral director who had no problem getting us a plot.
I ended up getting a button up shirtdress from the OldNavy down the hall and some leggings for the funeral, but definitely didn’t do the full shop I need!
They were full stalls with real locks on them!
3 fights in 9 seconds
We left items behind that we really wanted because this kind of discrimination is unacceptable.
Dammit! I wanted those shiny pants!
You don’t know someone’s gender identity based on how they look. Clothing is so hard to find that fits my body type. I deserve to try on clearance items before purchasing them without them trying to kick us out. I shouldn’t have to explain my gender to be allowed to try on clothes.
Part way through, an associate said “[spouse] your husband actually isn’t allowed in the change room, men aren’t allowed in the change room area” even though we had asked if we could share a stall bc we were both trying things on and were showed which stall to use and we both had clothes.
I was shopping with my spouse for clothes to wear to a funeral this week. We asked to use a larger stall to try clothes on (so we could give each other feedback).
I’m cynical enough to expect that at least some will still try.
Corporations that are ending DEI initiatives should be ineligible to sponsor or march in Pride events.
Just found out my Power Engineering License has been issued since September! I’ve been trying to get ahold of them for months!
Also, Imagine having a three year old account and having NEGATIVE KARMA!!!
Someone’s up an old Reddit comment of mine and started spewing homophobic interpretations of scripture at me.
I thought necromancy was a sin?
“What a morning, maybe I’ll take an early lunch” *looks at the clock* It’s 10:30.
Whichever ad company decided “This is Me” from The Greatest Showman was an appropriate song for a weight loss commercial can fuck right off.
I’m not an issue that needs “navigating”
I need someone to appreciate the fact that I’m ignoring a transphobic comment (on my dad’s Christmas ENewsletter) and not picking a fight with a family friend.
Politicians’ Salaries/ Pensions and Welfare should be locked in 1:1. If you can’t live off it, neither can they.
They did say they’d try! So it wasn’t a no!
I told my mom that I wanted to use gender neutral language and they/them pronouns. Today my Dad asked if I felt like I’m multiple people. I had to explain third person singular.
Trans day of remembrance. Don't just focus on those trans people who have been murdered by strangers in public. Also remember the trans people who were denied healthcare, allowed to die in prison, encouraged to kill themselves by their loved ones, buried under the wrong name by their families.
What this legislation does do is alienate trans people, encourage violence towards us and destroy our mental health. These policies and laws are literally killing us, so once you are done remembering those of us who have passed. Go out there and fight for our right to exist and be left alone.
Reminder on Trans Day of Remembrance: anti trans legislation does not protect women and girls, not in bathrooms nor on sports teams or anywhere else, because we are not a threat, this has been statistically proven time and time again.
Black zip up ankle booties from torrid. Blue jeans.
Shoes have been the most consistent source of gender dysphoria for me. Men’s shoes are boring, and I’m a 13 women’s!
Today I finally got fem boots! I’m never going back!
