amazing as always !
I actually bought a version of this pen & have been using it in my sketchbook. it’s amazed me how much nicer my ink sketches are with this
So thanks for posting the type of pen so much, it’s made me curious enough to try it out myself
something expressive / oil on paper - self portrait
Showing only part of this painting since it’s [kind of] disproportionate. I’m short, but I made myself look even shorter 🥲

thank you! It worked out well
A beautiful mistake / Oil on paper
My intention with this was to paint a beautiful portrait with flowing hair…Yet the flowing hair wasn’t flowing 😭
So I pivoted & played around to make something abstract
Good practice but I’m still bitter about that flowing hair lol

I love exploring different mediums, experimenting, and growing in new ways, getting better & challenging oneself. that’s a big part of what makes it meaningful to me. I understand why “niching down” gets talked about so much, but it doesn’t feel like the right path for everyone (2/3)
Some of us feel more inspired and fulfilled when we allow ourselves to evolve and try new things. Curious if anyone else feels the same way? (3/3)
Can we normalize artists not feeling like they have to stay in one creative box? (1/3)

went down a rabbit hole regarding cyanotypes the other day. And let me just saw, I’m now spewing with ideas to incorporate some of my images/artwork to make some prints
AND I’ve found you can bleach and tone the prints too
I don’t think I’ve been this excited for a project in a while

an oil painter I just discovered for myself last night. his choice of colors are divine & I love that his work mainly depicts women resting

All my oil studies from last the past 3 weeks. I don’t like any of them, but I try to remind myself that I couldn’t even draw a face properly a year ago, let alone paint with oil
Anyway, cheers to progress

haha I really like that one too! He usually sleeps like a beached seal, so happy I was able to capture it well

overworked the hell out of this but it was fun experimenting with color mixing!
I’m really enjoying the look of these soft pastel colors a ton and plan to incorporate more of it in future studies

Close-up of an oil portrait painting of a woman, showing the area from her nose to the top of her head. Expressive brushstrokes blend purples, pinks, blues, yellows, browns, and peach tones across the face
Close-up of the same oil portrait from the right side, showing the woman’s right eye, ear, part of her hair, and the top of her shoulder. The face is painted with layered purples, pinks, blues, yellows, browns, and peach tones

Can’t get her mouth right, so I’m giving up for the day

I try not to be too “woo-woo” or spiritual because I’m pretty skeptical about that. But I do think there’s something, or at least I’d like to hope there is, in the universe that gives you little reminders to do the thing you’ve been on the fence about (2/3)
So maybe this is your sign to get offline. Throw your phone in the trash (not really, but I wish we all could) and make something for yourself. Because that’s exactly what I’m going to do (3/3)
I’ve been stuck between working and painting today, and felt a little guilty choosing to paint because it wouldn’t make me any money. Naturally, I started procrastinating on YouTube, and this popped up as a recommendation. Safe to say, I’m going to paint today instead (1/3)
thank you for listening :)
Some thoughts that have been weighing on me lately. I felt like I needed to say them out loud
Sound up if you care to listen

Thank you!
