When I got shingles I was surprised because all the stories tell you it’s an old person disease. But it’s not.

And yet still you can only get the vaccine for free if you’re over a certain age. Otherwise it costs $200+.

I had chicken pox when I was too young to remember but my mom said it was very mild. I’m sure it was just a few bumps and a fever and then all better. There was no vaccine at that time.

I had shingles at 40. It was a very mild case and it fucking sucked. I cannot imagine how awful a bad case it.

During an interview today for TV the reporter asked me what I’m most looking forward to about the return of #Artemis II (referring I think to the science data/discoveries) and I replied that all I care about today is that the astronauts return home safely 🙏🏼

30 minutes to go from Australia to California? I can’t even imagine.

After travelling on Artemis II I think the only course for me would be wondering every national park and natural environment to live out my days in wonder and amazement.

But also an important piece of self care. Just like my nightly baths. Where I can now enjoy my flowers and admire my favorite vase.

I already have lovely vases in my living room and dining room. But this green vase is too special to me to store away. So I put it in my bathroom.

And now I buy myself flowers that only I will really get to enjoy. It’s a total luxury.

I bought this vase ages ago and it had a permanent spot on the mantel in our Californian house. I shipped it with a bunch of other beloved items even though I had no idea where I’d actually use them here.

Interestingly, there’s a Pittsburg (no H) in California, so named because it was a mining town like Pittsburgh. 😅
