It really is a fantastic building Lance, a little higgly piggly these days, but this is only to be expected.
Just as impressive is the approach, through the Romney Marshes, where Rye itself, rises like a Citadel, from the swirling mists around it's base.

The Mermaid Inn, the morning after.
Although we didn't come away with much, such a fantastic, historical location, where many luminaries have passed through, some, I'm sure, you'd rather not have met.
We'll be back. Some day.

Harwich's High and Low Lighthouses, both constructed in 1818. Laura has always wanted to visit the High Lighthouse, perhaps we shall manage it this year.
Since publication of our research into St Osyth's medieval lock-up, newly identified photographic evidence allows us to refine its position with greater accuracy.
We’ve added an update to the original articles, with a link to the latest findings below:

Last night I joined Justin Cowell on the Paranormal Monkey Podcast to discuss our research into the true location of St Osyth’s medieval lock-up.
If you’re interested in the historical background behind this research, you can listen to the episode here:

Absolutely used to being spammed by the usual culprits but lately we're receiving emails requesting our services as 'ghost hunters'.
Whilst we're relatively happy with the comparative charm of being marketed hauntings rather than hedge fund bets, is anyone else experiencing this?
Produced in the 1970s and early 1990s by the highly revered Borderline Science Investigation Group (issues 3 to 40 are available).
They're an absolute treasure trove of information, just as relevant today as it were 50 years ago.
I know we've shared this magazine archive before, however, if you have an interest in East Anglian paranormal phenomena and high strangeness, you could do no worse than download these magazines.

I always remember the ending being a bit 'tense' for me, but at least it had a happy... ending!
Happy Day!
On this day in 1977 ITV launched it's 7 part drama 'Children of the Stones', following the story of new arrivals in Milbury (read Avebury), facing dangers of a prehistoric cult.
Do you have any memories of the series?

There was enough information in our original post to find out the back story behind the post.
Here's Kenny Veach at the now infamous mineshaft in the Nevada Desert, near Area 51, during one of several searches for the M Cave, before he disappeared, never to be seen again.
However, what surprised us the most was the response from a couple of posters, who accused us of 'gate keeping' (one of the more polite responses), all because we didn't spoon feed them the full information etc. etc.
Is society just becoming lazy and lost any form of curiosity?
We were surprised by the response to our Stranger Things M Cave post last week.
Whilst on most platforms it was received as expected, but with Threads, it went down a storm, receiving 186,357 views, with over 286k hits on our profile.
Not bad for a platform we consider 'dead'.
I found it interesting, in Volume 2, Season 5 of Stranger Things, a certain, now infamous cave in Nevada was referenced, in plain sight. Even our daughter called it, without prompting.
I wonder if this is why Vecna / Henry Creel is too scared to enter.......
The Well Room, Orford Castle Keep, Suffolk, England.
Sometimes, when you walk away, you always know, deep down, you'll be back some day.
Sometimes you search for now horizons when what you're really looking for is right in front of you.
Our research when out in the field often involves moments of quiet attunement to a landscape.
Here, Laura takes a reflective pause during one of our visits, perhaps a reminder that intuition and, careful observation sit alongside technical methods in our research.
No other information was given, just the strong compulsion to repeat the mantra again and again - "Give me a reason, give me a sign".
Once in the Church, Laura wrote the mantra upon a prayer request note.
We hope it meant something to someone.
During our last visit to St Peter's on the Wall (St Cedd's Chapel), Essex, back in 2023, as we started walking along the Roman Road to the Chapel, Laura, almost immediately 'received' what can only be described as a mantra, which she felt compelled to repeat the entire walk to St Cedd's.
Something for the weekend?
Finally got around to uploading some of our more compelling EVP captures to the website. Some we've shared before, but here they are in their raw state, no filtering or amplification.
As always, best listened to via headphones.

An important update to Dr Paul's Ghost Map, please check.
We can only agree that anywhere and everywhere can be haunted, although my research also helped me form an opinion on the majority of the background haunting, although we chose not to discuss this.
Thank you Paul, greatly appreciated. It's important to get the truth out there and you have helped by amending your description, let alone putting a link.
Can paranormal research really meet the criteria of the scientific method?
Dive into our latest article to explore how investigation and evidence collide in the search of the high strange.

Yes, again I can only agree, which I briefly touch upon within the article.
Correct Sir (well, at least there are now two of us....)
Published our latest article on our website earlier - posing the question:
"Can paranormal research really follow the Scientific Method?".
Will post an introduction and link tomorrow. Think "Betteridges' Law of Headlines".
Following last night’s re-post post on The Cage at St Osyth, this second article dives deeper into the how's and why's behind the research that helped us finalise our conclusion as to where the true medieval lock-up actually stood.

Much has been said about The Cage at St Osyth. Our latest research traces its real history and reveals why the popular tale doesn’t hold up to evidence.

Precisely - the paranormal is within us. However, this suggestion is too radical for many sadly.
