UC Davis Global Affairs welcomes Samantha Lu as the new Director of Services for International Students and Scholars, beginning February 23, 2026. Lu brings more than 20 years of experience supporting international students and scholars at leading research universities.
UC Davis student Lauren Riggs spent six weeks in New Zealand interning with Anxiety New Zealand. From learning about Māori approaches to anxiety to building community connections, her experience highlights the impact of global education on inclusive mental health practices.

Andrea Solis Olguin’s journey to civil engineering spans countries, disciplines and identities. Her study abroad experience in Mexico brought sustainability, community and global perspective together.
As she retires in January 2026, we’re celebrating Karen Beardsley’s nearly decade-long impact at Global Affairs. From mentoring international fellows to building global professional networks, her work has connected communities worldwide with UC Davis.
