Happy World Public Transport Day 🚆
A global reminder of how public transport connects people, places, and regions.

Hundred Valleys 🚆
The Centovalli Railway runs 52 km between Locarno and Domodossola, crossing 83 bridges and 34 tunnels along the way.
We rode it in 2022 and it was fantastic. Still a bit of a hidden gem compared to bigger names, but absolutely worth it.
Chicago → Pacific Northwest. The Empire Builder spans 3,500 km in ~46 hours, crossing the Mississippi, Great Plains & Glacier National Park 🚆
With sleepers, dining car & panoramic lounge, it’s built for slow travel.
At viaduct, more timetable data is coming soon also outside Europe.
Follow @tobiaswatzl.bsky.social on his mission to reach 100% Slovenia coverage over the Easter weekend!
Private rail in Europe has been expanding recently 🚄
New routes:
Paris–Berlin (European Sleeper)
Amsterdam–Hamburg/Berlin (GoVolta)
Vienna–Villach (WESTbahn)
Warsaw–Kraków (LEO Express)
Which ones have you already tried?
A white class 387 train (387129) stands in platform 11 at London Bridge
Trip number 400 logged on @viaduct.world is this rather tatty looking 387 viaduct.world/share/t/PcL0...
This can happen because of the new, more detailed line generation. We will fix it.
If you notice some errors (e.g. lines not running anymore) on the slovenian coverage map please let us know! 🙏
Hopefully, our coverage map is correct. 😬
On the other hand there is quite some routes I already covered..
See this screenshot from my @viaduct.world.
But if possible I would like to use the opportunity to also cover some of the routes missing in southern Austria.. AND take pictures on the Koper ramp.. quite a tight schedule.
Fjord to mountain ❄️
A short ride from Narvik up to Bjørnfjell.
The Ofotbanen was built for moving ore, and that’s still a big part of what runs here 🚆
Mostly a steady climb, with views opening up along the way.
Romania is a special destination for rail travel. Some journeys feel like a step back in time, especially aboard CFR Class 77 railcars – vehicles over 90 years old still running regional services. Add scenic routes like the Olt Valley and the experience becomes unforgettable. 🌄
Grandioser Urlaubsauftakt 2026
6.377 Zugkilometer - 10 Länder (1*Grenzkontrolle) - 3 Nachtzüge und alle Züge pünktlich
Ostern wartet Marrakesch
@viaduct.world danke für die geniale Dokumentationsmöglichkeit
Already wondering why we haven’t posted any app updates lately?
There’s a reason: we’re currently busy working on a larger viaduct update with many new features. 🚆 The update is planned for spring 2026. Expect new ways to explore, connect and log your journeys.
More details soon — stay tuned 🙂
Southern Shortcut ☀️🚄
First spring sun = head south.
Yesterday we travelled from Vienna on our first ride on the new Koralmbahn — a real gamechanger for southern Austria. Carinthian lakes (and even Italy) just got closer.
Bonus: tried the brand new WESTbahn trains starting service today.
Sunrise in Paris.
By early afternoon, you’re in Barcelona.
More than 1,000 km on a double-deck TGV Duplex. Fields, vineyards, the Pyrenees — then Mediterranean light.
Under 7 hours. Direct. Twice a day.
Wow, enjoy your #MyTrainMap! 😍
🚆 We’re building a top requested feature: create trips directly from your tickets.
To test it, we need your help. Please send us your tickets (PDF, photo, or screenshot) with at least the route visible. You can blur personal data, tickets will be used internally only.

Apparently @viaduct.world did some CSS adaptions, which means now I can use my FULL screen width. :D

Railways first, roads second 🚆
Our new custom map styles now highlight rail infrastructure instead of highways. Dark, Light & Topo are updated — plus a brand-new Satellite view (hillshade coming soon!).
Default is now Adaptive, switching light/dark automatically. Change it anytime in settings.

I spent 323 hours on trains last year. That is 13.5 days, and I liked it!? 🚄
29k km, 11 countries & my first Interrail through the Baltics & Nordics. Despite DB memes about delays & Bordbistro, it's actually really great!
Tracked with Träwelling & @viaduct.world to get these stats. Check them out!
Adriatic Crossing 🌊🚢
From Split to Ancona by ferry. A small escape to summer while winter still lingers. Crossing the Adriatic is the ideal building block for a round trip combining Croatia and Italy: relaxed, scenic, and perfectly suited for slow travel between rail routes on both sides of the sea.
Hello und herzlich willkommen! 👋
#Viaduct #train #travel
