These boomer memes make me laugh because yeah, I agree that feels like the correct sentiment. But also that’s what everyone said about ‘70s cars in the ‘90s. And ‘80s cars in the 2000s. And so on.

But also, it’s possible that no one will be restoring ANY cars in the apocalyptic near future.

A friend’s kid was pitching for the River Dogs for a while but he’s made his way up to triple A now!

So the one thing I’ve learned so far about my predecessor in this teaching job is that he apparently didn’t know how to tell students to clean their brushes.

I respect “War Pigs” for its moral simplicity. Listen to that on 10 and then read one of those 1,000-word op-eds that amounts to “the reasons for state violence are complicated.” Which do you find more convincing?

I’ve been reading Big Takeover for years so it’s pretty cool to see a review featuring my cover art in there. Also it’s a great album, in case there was any doubt.

The absolute irony of my daughter receiving her MS in Equity and Social Justice in Education the same week I read an email from the college where I've worked for 20 years replacing all of our DEI language with generic words about "community and opportunity". Glad she made it out of Iowa in time.
