Artemis II crew’s message of hope and unity in their live interview with ABC News made me cry. #artemis2 #nasa

Very sad that #StarfleetAcademy will not continue after Season 2. It’s the best first season of #StarTrek in perhaps the franchise’s entire history, with a killer cast and fresh, well-scripted stories that blend old and new incredibly well. I’ll relish the final season, and miss it terribly after.

With the launch of its new displays, particularly the Studio Display XDR, #Apple has lost me as an enthusiast customer.

Current “pet peeve” iPad bug: if you drag some text from your Mac to iPad via Universal Control, the gesture is interpreted as grabbing the edge of a full-screen window on iPad to resize it. Feedback filed, but I’m not hopeful for a fix. #Apple

Really liking Retro as an “Instagram for close friends and family”. It has a UI optimised for sharing about one photo a day. It feels like the app version of those digital picture frames you can buy for your faraway loved ones to project hand-picked photos into their world. https://retro.app
Finally gave @raycast.com a fair shake. It definitely has richer UI capabilities than my old pal @launchbar.bsky.social, which makes me want to love it. The built in tutorial is incredibly good, for instance. But I continue to miss LaunchBar’s “unified index”. kevinyank.com/notes/5e544/
Sounds great! Will be there.
In Sydney to speak at Web Directions #DevSummit25. Any night-before festivities going on? I miss the old Twitter social scene around these conferences.
2025 MPSS by the numbers: our biggest and most successful show yet! 1,411 attendees (2.5× more than 2024), 679 raffle tickets ($2,210 raised for Reading Out of Poverty), 173 door prize tickets, 15 workshop tickets sold, 250 tote bags sold, 120+ volunteer hours contributed by 24 amazing community members, 44 exhibitors including an amazing international lineup from Japan, Singapore, Hong Kong & USA. Thank you to everyone that believed in, supported, and helped us. Looking forward to an even bigger and better 2026 MPSS!
Big weekend. Very proud of my team. :)
In my experience, the size of the clock is chosen by "magic" based on the composition of your lock screen background image. It's small for some photos, large for other photos.
Successfully added Apple CarPlay to my Tesla Model 3 (I know…) with a little box that injects the CarPay UI into the video signal for the centre screen. Feels great to be able to pick an episode from my Pocket Casts “up next” list while driving without having to touch my phone.
Days since I accused someone of using AI to communicate with me and wasting both our time: 0.
I love all the positive talk about supporting indie journalists. But you know what's cooler than talk? Action!
This weekend, I'll make it easy for anybody who wants to support weekly original video games reporting.
Until Sunday at midnight, you can get a month of Post Games for $1
Post Games has been my favorite new podcast this year - funny, thought-provoking, and I’ve learned a ton from it. @plante.bsky.social has been killing it.

I don’t want to spoil the surprise, but if you haven’t opened Carrot Weather since the latest update, do yourself a favour. #Apple
Given what I imagine the usage ratios look like, they should really say airplanes are made from iPhone-grade aluminium. #Apple
Excited to present my talk, How to Build an Agent in JavaScript at Web Directions Dev Summit in November! I hope agents are still interesting in three months. 😅 https://webdirections.org/dev-summit/
I made a video of my talk from last night’s #MelbJS: How to Build an Agent in JavaScript

Relieved to see ScreenFlow is back from the dead with a new 10.5 release that fixes the compatibility issues that were keeping me from using it on the current macOS. It’s still my favourite app for editing and publishing screen recordings. www.telestream.net/screenflow/v...

Rob and Kev are back to visit Strange New Worlds. After sharing highlights from "Hegemony, Part II" and "Wedding Bell Blues", they pull up a stool and talk about their favourite bartenders: Quark, Guinan … and one more!
