The CEO of Palantir posted a fascist manifesto on X.

I pointed out that it was fascist—which resulted in a permanent suspension from X (my second time!).

So, when you hear the tweeters complaining that BlueSky is intolerant, remember why many of us came here in the first place.

When we queer Christians come out of the closet, we are ministering to those Christians who have not experienced a multivalent Creator. We are missionaries to a church that does not yet know itself.

A god that is Israeli but not also Palestinian is no god at all. A god that is a white straight male cannot be the Crucified and Resurrected God. Ours is a God of many voices. Ours is a God of Divine Mystery and Truth – the Holy Spirit and Breath that blows throughout all of creation.

Obviously, this is blasphemy. And so is his racism against Image Bearers of God and so is his usage of Christian imagery throughout his regime’s existence as props to bolster his own image. This has always been who he is. He is one of the most blasphemous and twisted figures in history.

2) Threatened a Cardinal to win Catholic silent compliance;
3) Attacked Bishop Budde for asking for mercy;
4) Arrested clergy;
5) Attacked the Lutheran Church for aiding refugees;
6) Attacked the Pope.

I am not sure why Melania Trump decided to make a statement about Jeffrey Epstein seemingly out of nowhere today, but if the idea was to put the ongoing coverup in the rearview mirror it will backfire spectacularly

One cannot support this regime and remain Christian. The regime despises Christians who stand up for the least. They therefore despise Christianity. The MAGA cult’s relationship with Christianity is the same as Nazi Germany’s - the church is a prop to uplift the agenda of the dictator.

From Trump’s tear-gassing an Episcopal church in Washington DC during his first term, to denigrating Bishop Budde when she asked that he show mercy, to outright threatening the Catholic Church (and by extension any church that would oppose the regime), it is obvious that we are past a turning point.

This is beyond evil. Beyond insanity. They are the words of a monster. They are the words of a man who thinks that he is a god of destruction. If he carries out his plans, the blood of millions will be on not only his hands but those of everyone who put him in power and keep him in power.

Donald Trump is deranged. He must be impeached and removed from office.

Republicans who don’t stop him will have blood on their hands, and anyone who carries out an order to bomb civilian targets will be complicit in war crimes and will be held accountable.

The state religion in 1st century Rome was Pax Romana, the “Peace of Rome” - the idea that Rome’s imperialism led to prosperity. Caesar was called son of God. The US has its own version, the Pax Americana. But stating Jesus is Lord means Caesar is not. Stating Jesus is Lord means Trump is not.

It is subversive to declare “Christ is risen” while living in any nation that claims ultimate power. He was declared Lord, which was blasphemous and godless in a state religion that saw itself as the supreme authority. Easter reveals that Caesar’s dominion is not and never will be absolute.

Rather than the basis of a formulaic atonement theory, “Good” Friday is a meditation on divine solidarity. If God dies alongside us the question ceases to be a theory on why God would permit suffering. Rather, God is a sufferer too, a comrade, at the hands of the brutality of the will to power.

God is queer. We are often told that the church is not the building, but the people within the building. And there are queer people in the building. So the church must be queer. And Scripture affirms that humanity bears God’s Image. So God is queer.

To all of my trans friends: I am so sorry. Despite the evil that our fascist regime commits against you, you are seen and heard. You possess inherent and infinite worth. You are who you say you are. You know yourself. You are trans and this is sacred. We are ruled by devils who hate what is good.

Lent is a time during the church calendar where we honor our humanity. We do this by acknowledging harm - harm committed by us, against us, and on our behalf. We see ourselves as whole beings, without placing our harm into a hidden box of shame.

Lent always falls at the appropriate time. We are lamenting a war that we started. It was fairly obviously started as a distraction from Trump’s name being found many times in the Epstein Files. We lament that we are being ruled by a deranged cabal of predators.
