A thread well worth your time!
NEW | Record exports of solar, batteries and EVs last month 📈
China’s exports for the ‘new three’ industries reached a record high of $21.9bn in March 2026, up 70% year-on-year, in the wake of the US-Israel war with Iran and changing export rebates for solar and batteries.
Told you so.
Their new flagship report is out today, and it's RICH in detail, well worth a read👏

UK Enery Minister Ed Miliband:
“The lesson for our country is clear; the era of fossil fuel security is over, and the era of clean energy security must come of age.”
“You can’t solve a fossil fuel crisis by doubling down on fossil fuels.”

I need to do that.
Big batteries have begun reshaping the U.S. power grid. Now, the country has made surprising strides in making those energy storage systems itself, rather than depending on imports from China.
Good news! No pay wall.
Zoning laws, town regulations, utilities pushback, politics....take your pick.
That Iran "coal comeback" in full
Mera kuch saamaan….🙏🏼😞😇
David Fickling @davidfickling.bsky.social and Akshat Rathi @akshatrathi.bsky.social discuss the fossil fuel dependency of (primarily) Asian countries.
Did you know that Australia spends more on diesel subsidies than on their army, and almost as much as on public education?

NEW | Cheap battery storage means solar can now economically meet up to 90% of India’s electricity demand ☀️🔋
Solar paired with batteries could deliver electricity at a LCOE of INR 5.06/kWh, lower than the average power cost in most Indian states 🇮🇳

100 percent
The next tipping point in the energy transition is approaching.
Overall, solar has already been cheaper than fossil power for a while, but upfront costs used to be higher.
That's no longer the case. Solar is now competitive upfront AND has vastly lower operating costs (no fuel).
Same problem here for years, but it’s seasonal in spring. This is their way to amplify their abilities to attract a mate. It will go away by itself in a few days.
If you still want to limit it, tie a cloth over the chimney or just bang a few times on the wall housing the chimney when it drums 🤷🏻♂️
Argh, I just finished the last box today.
This!
a very nice story with lovely data viz on the absolute shitshow in energy supplies across the world as.ft.com/r/657153fb-8...
I can‘t help but notice the intermittency of….
gas and oil.
The government and its state owned enterprises are the bigger producers and distributors of fertilizer, and its a politically sensitive commodity.
Nobody wants to muck around with "smart home" gizmos, they just want stuff to work.
