Nicely done! And, I like the name. I remember my dad catching a large rainbow trout in just that kind of water.

Post hoc fallacy. 😅
She’d make a terrific President of the United States.
“… the most important shift in the Common Core is from thinking about math as *getting right answers* to thinking about math as *a meaningful collection of really good ideas*. Those ideas need to lead to right answers, of course. But the *ideas* are the focus of teaching.”
Among my favorite DS9 episodes is “The Sound of Her Voice”
season 6 episode 25
Plenty of those remain in Alberta, unfortunately.

I saw something about Common Core Math on YouTube, so got this book to find out more about it. It’s very interesting; a way to get students in K-12 to think about and understand math beyond just memorizing tables or algorithms to pass tests. I’m thinking it’s a good thing. 😁
My greenbottle blue tarantula molted the other day. It’s now an adult male.
I would love to see the original Star Trek pilot “The Cage” on a full sized theatre screen. 🖖🏻
Beautiful board and pieces! 👍
One detail: the bottom right hand corner square is always light not dark. 😁
Surely, the court would question and reject this argument.
“Let that sink in.” “Tell me you’re _____, without telling me you’re ______.” “So let me get this straight …” “I’ll wait …” (said after daring someone to respond) “Very unique” “could care less” instead of “couldn’t care less” “I find it interesting that …” “ … *checks notes* …” “I will die on this hill …” “ … *flips through notes* …” “You cannot make this stuff up.”
I finished reading this last night and found it an engaging read and good story. The writing was throughout as I mentioned before: skillfully evocative of time, place, characters and events. I recommend it!
Do NOT read the intro first! It commits the unpardonable sin of giving the story away.
This marvellous performance of Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco’s “Tarantella” by Meng Su is one of the best I’ve heard, imo. What a listening treat!
Enjoy! 🎧
I found the first spider of spring today. It looked cold walking on the snow. Wolf spider, probably Pardosa moesta.
Beautiful piece! I hadn’t heard him play before. I will definitely look for more of him. 😁👍
Now reading “Butcher’s Crossing” by John Williams. I like his writing style. It’s very evocative of time and place, so I am *experiencing* the story more than just reading it.
(I skipped the introduction in case it talks about the story. I’ll read it after I’ve finished the novel.)
He’s holding the book in his *left* arm. 🖖🏻
I’m in favour of reason-based schools, myself.
Looks like a draw?
Probably just delaying the loss, but

Prime Minister Carney needs to be more vocal in opposing separation. Right now we need the support of the federal government on this.
@mark-carney.bsky.social
Dear Mr. Prime Minister,
Please be more vocal, more often in opposing the idea of Alberta separation from Canada.
Thank you,
A concerned Albertan and proud Canadian.

I suspect this book may be meant to help him garner support as a Presidential candidate in 2028. The timing is about right.
Apparently, as I understand it, as the rocket travels upward through thick clouds a charge can build up around it making it susceptible to being struck by lightning. That happened during the launch of Apollo 12.
