# What Happens When Neighbors Build Their Own Backup Systems
The afterburn problem: what happens when cameras leave and GoFundMe closes?
Most mutual aid networks die not from lack of need, but from lack of structure. Emergency = easy. Sustainable = hard.
The s…

# What Happens When Your Block Starts Swapping Skills
Your neighbor knows how to fix your bike. You know how to fix something they don't. You're both paying full price for skills you could trade for free.
That's not a gap. That's a trade.

# Victory Gardens Are Having a Mainstream Moment
The grocery industry isn't infrastructure. It's a business model built around your dependence.
Grocery inflation is driving victory garden interest in 2026. Not because it's trendy. Because people are doing the math.

Mangel på kritik og protest fortæller alt om, hvilken side af konflikten danske politikere og medier står.
Det gælder også for alle jer andre der ikke siger fra, I er medskyldige.

Solarpunk allows people to envision a different future than the dystopia that is typically sold to us. It's a way to recapture the imagination and the narrative.
I wrote this adjacent article on the importance of narrative.

Blackrock's CEO, the highest paid CEO in the world, is now head of the World Economic Forum.

Most people think the system is broken.
It’s not. It’s built to keep you dependent.
Food. Power. Money. Learning. The list goes on.
You don’t need to fight it. You just need to stop needing it.
Start with one system. Grow something. Trade something. Teach something. Reclaim something.
Left lane: centralized fragile systems.
Right lane: community and personal sovereignty.
We’re taking the offramp. Want to build it with us?

I started watching this a couple days ago too!
Step 3: Money is not wealth.
Wealth is access. Tools, skills, neighbors.
Trade. Share. Reduce costs. Invest in systems, not stuff.
Step 2: Power.
Portable solar. Rocket stoves. Propane cooktops.
You don’t need to go off-grid—just stop being powerless when the grid goes down.
Step 1: Food.
Grow something. Anything. Herbs, sprouts, raised beds.
Then trade. Then preserve.
Control your food = control your fate.
Ever feel like the system isn’t broken—it’s just not built for you?
Same. So I stopped waiting for collapse or permission.
I started quietly leaving. One step at a time.
Here’s how I’m exiting the game:

And "Dole" references Republican Senate Speaker Bob Dole, not the pineapple company (though he was the Heir to that estate)
Carl Sagan when asked, "Are you a Socialist?"
I used to say yes when I meant no—because I thought keeping the peace mattered more than telling the truth.
Then everything cracked open.
This is about the moment my relationship shifted—and how it shaped NeighborhoodShare, a platform for trust, not transactions.

Guilty
Resilience isn’t about having more—it’s about needing less. Less clutter, less fragility. More security, more community, more connection.
What have you stopped relying on that’s made your life better?
