Updated the profile picture since I'll be going to Final Fantasy Fanfest next week. I decided to go with a picture from when I went to Hokkaido last year and became an honorary SHINSENGUMIIIIIII DA.
Based on the NHK article I translated this morning it seems like this is on both groups. Araguchi definitively said the Strait was open then the IRGC decided it wasn't anymore based on us continuing to have naval forces in the region. But yeah, it's not just Iran reversing course afaik.
Sometimes the old urge to have an opinion on the internet bubbles up and I have to remind myself that I'm retired and, for me, the internet is now for posting pictures of pets and food, talking about hobbies/IPs I enjoy, and keeping aware of current events.

The richest 10% of Americans own roughly 87% of stocks.
The richest 1% alone own roughly half of all stocks.
It's worth pointing out once again that the stock market is not the economy.

NEW: A new pre-print study offers the first causal evidence that outsourcing reasoning tasks to AI can rapidly erode users' independent performance AND their will to persist despite difficulty.
"People’s persistence drops... they’re also not willing to try without AI.”

And you call them steamed hams despite the fact that they are obviously grilled. Ye- You know, the- One thing I should- - Excuse me for one second. - Of course. Well, that was wonderful. No. Seymour. ! The house is on fire. ! No, Mother. It's just the northern lights. Well, Seymour, you are an odd fellow but I must say you steam a good ham.
Today is officially the 30th anniversary of Steamed Hams. On April 14, 1996, "22 Short Films About Springfield" aired for the first time!

Window of a barbershop in Arles, France with an image of Goku from Dragonball Z in an apron and holding a barbershop pole and scissors.
Van Gogh spent a lot of time in Arles, France. There's a restaurant that used to be a hotel where Van Gogh stayed and in a letter he wrote that the food was bad and they overcharged him for wine. Directly next door, sharing a wall, is this Dragonball-themed barbershop.

I've been watching Cyclathon 5 when I have time and it's been cool to see the lads cycle along the Sea of Japan coastline. There are some absolutely gorgeous views.

About 45% of pet ownership is walking by them and badly singing little songs that integrate their names. If you can’t do this, then I’m sorry, you are not ready for the responsibilities of owning a pet.
I ended up dropping as of yesterday. Some neat ideas, just found I wasn't actually enjoying my time all that much.

Lately, I find myself feeling bad for young people, especially kids. I'll be 39 in a month and before everything went crazy back in 2016, I feel like I got to be young, and feel optimism, even if my personal circumstances were often challenging. I cannot imagine young people feeling much hope now.
