Night Passage, by Alan Lamb 3 track album

Farewell to Australian composer Alan Lamb (1944-2025), whose works explored the magical resonances of singing wires. Hearing them is an eerie and unsettling experience. Wonderful sounds indeed. His classic works are now available on @room40.bsky.social

Finally, there is one by James Erb, "Orlando di Lasso : a guide to research", but this is from 1990... I can only agree, it is time for someone to write something new in English!

Ah, yes, the one by Bergquist seems to be the most comprehensive one. There is also "The chansons of Orlando di Lasso and their Protestant listeners" by Richard Freedman (2001), but looking at the index it probably focuses more on historical context, less on musical analysis.

Which is the book you have? I can find at least three books in English. Nothing newer that 2001 though, so nothing really new.

Trying to put together a list of avant-garde Christmas music, but I'm stuck at: 1) Schnittke's Stille Nacht, and 2) Sun Ra's When you wish upon a star

Listening to this now. 80 minutes of pure joy and exaltation.

Debussy probably. If we're talking contemporary, Glass and Reich. In these latter cases, I'm not sure this is such a good thing...
