I was into Naruto and Pandora Hearts and Vampire Knight and shit, but Homestuck was the fandom where I started making serious friendships and started considering art school and becoming a professional artist. It was a wild (and embarassing) time but it was a good time.

the butterfly effect of how Homestuck being my first major fandom has lead to me becoming a professional comic artist is fucking wild to me. I've been in online spaces and fandoms for like...20+ years, but Homestuck truly was the fandom that got the ball rolling first iirc.

real talk???? homestuck had fantastic character design, from the fact that despite having a Universal Base Shape, each sillhouette is distinct enough you can tell who is who in a blacked-out line-up, but even their speech/typing styles were unique.
