No, I sadly didn't work on the movie, but I almost did, and I WISH I did! Frankly, I just miss drawing Coyote from my Looney Tunes days. He was the most fun to draw n write for.

In addition to being happy this movie will get to see the light of day, I'm also pleased it already has Canadian distribution (through VVS Films) rather than getting it at the last minute like the previous Looney Tunes movie.
Or I tend to be sleeping at 3 am, when the embargo went up and my review could go public.
My review of the Disneynature documentary "Orangutan", which struggles to present much variety and educational value with its titular apes: www.youtube.com/watch?v=eFiV...
James Newton Howard's score is legitimately excellent and definitely a high point of that movie.
Plus, Yue's actress later got cast in a pivotal role in The Legend of Korra, so it contributed a little bit to the good parts of the franchise.
Michael? It's not out yet.
That said, I do think the movie will make its money back, regardless of the critical reception. Michael Jackson remains one of the biggest pop stars in the world and, like Bohemian Rhapsody, people will go to experience the concert scenes in the theatre.
It's still crazy to me that they filmed scenes about the case without knowing they couldn't. Don't lawyers on film productions (especially ones bankrolled by studios like Lionsgate and Universal) check the scripts for any legal issues beforehand? Especially when about controversial people like MJ.
On what unreleased movies would be interesting to see, including an infamous Jerry Lewis project and a cancelled DreamWorks Animation production: www.youtube.com/watch?v=4rch...
Much like Israel is in desperate need of new leadership, so are the Palestinians. Hamas has been in power for twenty years and nothing they have done has helped the Palestinians and gotten them anywhere close to living a safe life free from endless war and destruction.
The thing that always blows my mind is when people participate in October 7 denialism. Hamas filmed and livestreamed what they did that day and then boasted that they would happily do it again.
I've also read and listened to the testimony from October 7 survivors and it is heartbreaking.
Quincy Jones is depicted in the biopic helping with one of the songs and providing advice to Michael, but the movie curiously skips over The Wiz. We just see a poster in the background of one scene and they also allude to it when we see Michael as a child reading The Wizard of Oz.
Basically, certain people watched that movie wanting the animals to commit an October 7 and then got angry and disappointed that Mabel and King George supported a two-state solution instead.
FFS some social media leftists called the movie Hoppers "centrist propaganda" because (spoiler alert) the animals DON'T kill all the humans.
"There are better solutions to your problems than mass murder" is centrist propaganda to these people.
This does not seem sustainable in the long term.
It's why I never regret seeing any movie. Because at least now I've seen it and can form an opinion.
There are even cases where despite hating a movie, I might come back to it later to see if my opinion has changed. Or in the case of something like Master of Disguise, I'm oddly fascinated by it.
They don't depict anything bad about him in the movie, with the only real conflicts coming from his father's abusive behaviour and the Pepsi commercial incident.
It's a very sanitized depiction and more of a highlight reel.
The Jackson family also doesn't like when people talk about those things (see their reaction to the "Leaving Neverland" documentary), so what the second part might depict, I have no idea.
And the movie does end with the words "His Story Continues", implying they're confident about making a Part 2.
It's interesting. I think the movie smartly chooses to be a father-son story and heavily focus on their difficult relationship and there are less of the music biopic tropes that annoy me.
But it is very sanitised and with its sympathetic portrayal of MJ, I have no idea what they'll do in Part 2.
Sad to report the Michael Jackson biopic skips over him meeting Weird Al and the making of "Captain EO", two of the highlights of MJ's '80s period.
Clearly a product of the re-shoots and the filmmakers not using @tonygoldmark.bsky.social's script re-writes.
It's such a wild coinkydink that the people angry at Booker for saying this are the EXACT same people he's criticizing. The Venn Diagram is a circle. Looking inward is simply not on the table evidently.
And the goalposts will always move. I think the deaths in Gaza are a tragedy, think Netanyahu and his cronies should be out of power and am opposed to West Bank settlements and violence. Yet leftists have called me horrible because I don't demonize Israelis and I think Oct 7 was a terrible event.
"There are only 3 Toy Story and Indiana Jones films" is a childish statement.
You don't have to like the other entries but I think it's better to just acknowledge that they exist even if you don't care for them.
For one day, I wish every smoker could experience having hyperosmia to know the nausea and discomfort those of us with the condition feel when they walk into a subway train right after smoking.
The success of The Godfather and Jaws could also be comparable to Project Hail Mary in that they were based on best selling books.
My review of David Lowery's "Mother Mary", which features strong performances from Anne Hathaway and Michaela Coel, but when it attempts to go surreal, it doesn't land the intended effect: www.youtube.com/watch?v=6N9u...
It's possible Disney retained the North American theatrical and home video rights to the first movie through the original deal Fox made with Phoenix Pictures. And I'm guessing Sony producing the sequels and having certain rights to Lake Placid 1 is because of their initial investment in Phoenix.
Although even before his gross predatory behaviour, he had a reputation for constantly missing deadlines on R&S and talking smack about other artists in the animation industry.
E.g. he HATED Animaniacs, so it was awesome karmic justice that Katie Rice later became a director on the 2020s series.
Found it. It's this musical piece, which was also used in the Dark City trailer: www.youtube.com/watch?v=YKnp...

It's a shame certain people have such a blood lust nowadays that they see a movie about the need to find other solutions to solve a problem and promoting co-existence with each other (since, after all, we're all on this planet together), yet come away with "no, the animals should squish the humans."
