Several sketches showing anthropomorphic animals. First are three Marefolks / anthropomorphic fishes, based on the coelacanth, the angler fishes and the mud skippers. Next we have an ichthiogre (fish-ogre). They’re a large humanoid with characteristics of ray-finned fishes. Next to them there’s a builder crab which looks just like a coconut crab. Below there’s an unnamed species of an anthropomorphic cephalopod with fins transformed into limbs. They don’t have legs, but they can “stand upright” supporting themself on the rear side of their body. Next to them are two “pinniped taurs”, one based on sea lions and the other one based on leopard seal. They looks like their wild counterparts, but have two torsos, with the upper ones having prehensile flippers. The last is an anthropomorphic ibis. They stand more upright than regular ibises and have two clawed fingers and one thumb on each wing.

This is a perfect case of an animal evolving to deal with fluid dynamics. There's a boundary layer on the bottom where the water is still. Raising up above it allows the animal to take advantage of currents for feeding and gamete dispersion. Infant help wondering though...
