Why are we talking about people like Dumézil and Eliade without talking about their political positions in the 1930s and 40s? Why are professors of the field acting like this is irrelevant? (Rhetorical Qs, we all know why)

I've been exploring the academic relationships to N*zism in Viking academia and related areas for nearly 10 years and I'm still shocked to learn that some of the key theorists I've been taught about were card-carrying National Socialists
1908: the Lancet, one of the most respected scientific journals, calls for 18 age limit on reading in bed amidst a moral panic surrounding children becoming "addicted" to novels, which were "designed to keep kids hooked" and destroy their attention/mental health
I’m definitely traumatised from working in trans policy.
Walked into my local station and came face to face with Maya Forstater. I can’t stop shaking, I feel sick.
I had no idea there were people alleged to be Q, looks like I've got my next rabbit hole to fall into!
Cass met with people here in NI at the end of last year. This is how she introduced herself to trans people and their allies...
Look, I'm not saying I definitely believe this, but it was very convenient that a 'crazy conspiracy theory' about sex-trafficking elites appeared in the years that Epstein & pals' monstrosities were coming to light
My final straw working in trans policy was NHS England's Specialised Commissioner's accidentally admitting to a group fo trans policy experts that the Cass Review was always designed to close GICs. And I wasn't allowed to acknowledge that they'd said it.
the knitters too. this is the top pattern on ravelry right now
Of course, she can't keep her fucking nose out of our business. Sick of it lol

Maybe divvying up kids based on what we think's between their legs is a bit fucked up and the problem all along?
What changes can you expect to see All buildings are required to have a certain number of single-sex toilets based on the building occupancy. In selected buildings, where this number has been met, we will be creating additional universal toilet provision by changing some existing male or female single-sex toilets to provide more choice for staff, students and visitors. As these single-sex toilets already meet the standard for a universal toilet, we will just be changing the signage from a single-sex toilet sign to a universal toilet sign and no major building work will take place. Universal toilets are fully enclosed units and are for universal use for all who choose to use them. These facilities are different to accessible toilets which are designed to be wheelchair accessible. The work to change single-sex toilets to universal toilets will not impact the number of accessible toilets available.
Great to see that @sheffielduni.bsky.social's response to the EHRC nonsense has been to increase universal toilet provision across campus. Really shows there are inclusive ways to response to the anti-trans climate. Bravo.
What a time, what a place
we are well past the point at which anyone who cannot identify bad faith like this is disqualified from commenting on it
the girl and her mother are basically screaming THIS IS A BAD FAITH ATTACK ON TRANS PEOPLE at the top of their lungs and if you can't see that you're stupid or lying
Does anyone else remember when a writer on tw*tter started discourse that it's ableist to say writers should read in their genre? And then turned out to be a nepo hire at Lockheed? Why is this now a normal position among students??
This is just my opinion, but I don't think departments need to change their strategy for reading or grading student work.
Departments need a strategy for responding to harassment and attacks.
‘Campaign for a New 2015’ is the most accurate one I’ve heard so far
He is so me
First person to challenge me on using the toilet gets pissed on
Not much to say about Trans Day of Remembrance anymore besides “try loving and celebrating us while we are alive”
Interesting article! Blood science aside, it also raises questions for me around the link between (failed?) masculinity and fascism
Thank you, good to see you again!
Having this issue currently at work, I'm a Known AI-Hater (everyone looks at me when its brought up)
Does this count for Winchester Cathedral too? Had to be rescued by a diver 100 years ago!
Fwiw, I used to work in trans policy, and I've been piled on my neo-N*zis before - they were easier to handle than the terfs! But yes, will be putting lots of self-care in place, and luckily I already have 2 cats to look after me!
I've missed yooouuuu!! I was really hoping I'd be able to find you here 💕
Hello Bluesky, I'm back! I'm Eirnin - soon to be a PhD researcher exploring how Vikings have been used by white supremacists from 2010-2025. Think there's someone I should be following? Let me know!
It feels scary but also time to publicly say that after many years of back and forth, I'm pretty sure I need to get top surgery in the coming years. I'm not quite ready to start the process yet, but I am excited about the idea of being free of these girls.
