I finished Earthbound. What a game, what an ending. I'm very lttp on this but I can see why it's so special. I would have loved it as a kid, especially the clay models, but I think its design hits harder as a grownup with some perspective. I'll think of the Onett theme next time I go for a walk.

Playing Earthbound in 2026 is the closest I've felt to the wonder and delight I had playing Pokemon Red back in 1999. Because it's all so weird and unexpected, despite how influential it is, it still feels brand new. I love it.

I don't think there's necessarily a *game* here, but my models never feel really real and finished until they're rigged and doing something. In my head they're like action figures and that's how I like playing with them.

Looking wistfully at my old Dreams folder and found Mustard, Ketchup, and a big, mean fish. (bonus Monkey Island head). I'd still like to get some version of this running in Blender and Godot one day so I can keep populating it with little trinkets.

The observatory scene from "Universe" (1960). I've posted about this documentary a few times before, and I find myself thinking about it all the time. I love the movement and composition and intriguing reveal of the telescope. The whole doc is mesmerizing. Take a moment to watch the whole thing.

Another World is such a beautifully minimalistic game. The pacing, the rhythm of the animation, the music, the cover art, the journey, the companion. It's all perfect, and I always want to make fan art of it. An all time favourite game.
