It is funny and Roz deserves to be attentioned.
Mmm. I think I've made the best beef stew so far this time around. I won't really know until leftovers, of course. Beef stew is always even better the next day.
I wrote like 30K in a weekend when I felt absolutely terrible, and I started Law of Vengeance after my dad died so...
Evidence suggests yes?
What genuinely helps me is being too exhausted or stressed to a) desperately need the escape of writing and b) be overwhelmed enough that there's just no more criticism in the self-criticism tank.
I don't really recommend it as a strategy, if I'm honest.
Today I turn 89. I’ve seen this country at its best and its worst, and I know how much community matters. For my birthday, I’m asking you to stand with PFLAG and support the work that’s helped so many in the LGBTQ+ community, including me. give.pflag.org/page/95493/d...

Year of Space Facts: Week 15/52 🔭🧪🛰️
Planets CAN have two suns in their sky! The first one discovered was Kepler-16b in 2011. It stays stable despite the 3-body-problem-ness because its orbit (at 0.7 AU) is large compared to the orbit between the two stars (at 0.23 AU).

The First WORLD FENCING LEAGUE is happening April 25th!!! I'M GEEKING!!!
Japanese engineers developed this "Sword Tip Visualisation" tracking technology specifically for this event that will make it so much easier for the average person to see what's going on!
I MUST WATCH THIS ENTIRE TOURNAMENT
Unique damage on Pompeii’s northern fortification walls may have come from a mysterious ancient “machine gun,” according to new research.
The damage was preserved by the fateful eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 CE.

The Wachowskis' Speed Racer. Pure joy that can bring me out of any bad or sad mood.
Brown and black longhaired tabby cat lying on his side, front paws drawn up, sideyeing the floor. He's on a cat-mangled gray gaming chair.
I do have a lovely cat, though.
Holy. Shit. This is Reid Wiseman's video he took with his iPhone while at the moon 🌙
Ah, yes. Now I remember why I don't try to put together query lists anymore.
It is super depressing.
No one is going to want my books.

It’s absolutely incredible that one of the largest Japanese-run Go servers, which has been running since 1992, is still accessed entirely via Telnet. And while most players use GUI clients that use Telnet under the hood, you can still connect manually and get ASCII graphics streamed to you

And for the conclusion of the CTA Thorndale Red Line series, we bring out the game balls.
The Pretender was great! Until the end, as with most things, and it kept getting tangled in its own convoluted mystery boxes.

Breaking: HHS’s ban on gender-affirming care is struck down. Rarely have I read a ruling this sharply worded.
“This case is one of a long list of examples of how a leader’s wanton disregard for the rule of law causes very real harm to very real people.”

Your entire life you've been taught that gulls are annoying and police are your friends. Turns out that the birds are your friends 🥰

Two for the low, low price of one.
The American kestrel (Falco sparverius) is North America's smallest falcon, roughly the size of a mourning dove, known for its vibrant plumage and hunting prowess. These, at times, very vocal birds are distinguished by a rusty-red back, long slender wings, and a sharp, hovering flight pattern. They are often seen perched on telephone wires along roadsides, hunting insects and small prey.

With news of the new "Grazing Action Plan" created by the USDA to help the cattle industry, we wanted to remind everyone that wolves are not the problem. Wolves have killed 0.002% of cattle, yet hundreds of wolves were killed by government programs.

It is International Bat Appreciation Day. Please take some time to appreciate a bat
a map from 1918 showing the interurban network sprawling across Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, and Ohio
One side obsession from my research into the 1920s is the extensive network of ELECTRIC trains that used to connect cities and towns across the central Midwest called the Interurban. We had this more than a hundred years ago. The things we had and the things we lost.
GOOD NEWS! Researchers have made a HUGE breakthrough towards a UNIVERSAL antiviral. By targeting sugar molecules found on the surface of many viruses that SHARE structural similarities, they identified FOUR compounds that successfully BLOCKED infections from SEVEN different viruses.
This looks like something evil wizards fight over.
With my own experiences in customer-facing jobs and other people's as relayed to me, I reflect that working retail is a great way to realize just how many people are holding on to sanity by nothing more than their fingernails.
