When you look in the mirror and think, ‘Hi. I’m the woman who used to look like Mona… but with upgraded wisdom and downgraded collagen.’

Heartbreak is watching as your old dog whines at the top of the stairs because it hurts too much to walk down for breakfast.

And I’m too old to carry him.

Notice the date. This writer just met an important deadline.

Dave usually makes the coffee in the morning.
Today I got up early to surprise him.
Turns out he thinks I need a recipe.
For coffee.
For the record, I raised children alone. Coffee is not my Everest.

Single motherhood isn’t stressful because we’re failing.

It’s stressful because we’re leading — alone.

Stress and strength can coexist.

That’s moxie.

It doesn't happen often but I could feel a migraine coming on. A real migraine. It's different than a headache and if I nip it with Tylenols as soon as I feel it, I can usually beat it. Fingers crossed but it's starting to fade. And so concludes another episode of WTF.

This is the face of a very tired, yet proud person. I met a near impossible deadline today. Yes, I let some things slide. And no, I will not allow myself to feel guilty about that. Let’s focus on the win, shall we. Not a real question.

I’m in editing mode and it’s almost More Coffee o’clock.

I wish pets lived longer.
That wine was a superfood.
That houses vacuumed themselves.
