Chicago Stars are very lucky. Three home games. And the fourth game is a week later. Portland Thorns are unlucky. They have one home game in between LA and Chicago. And another road game 5 days after Chicago.

I must admit I hadn’t been following the Columbus bid super closely other than seeing general support for it from friends and family in the area, seems like an aggressively anti-social start to the project.

The city council voted and it passed. The tremendous amount of bad juju this nwsl Columbus team has before its announced is exponential. Burning community bridges before they even have a team. 🚮

The audacity to talk about access while advocating to take a public park from residents.

The Youth standing up to Billionaires and their minion

Residents who stand up to Billionaires and their minions 👏🏻

Hardin is working so hard for the mayor and billionaires.
He is not holding anyone accountable. There’s no deadlines or planned fines if they fail to reach those nonexistent deadlines.

City council blaming the mayor but going along with the mayors plan anyways.
Politics. 🚮

answering a question from media on why it has to be built on McCoy Park, Hardin said it was because that's what's on the proposal to the NWSL.

The proposal "has a very specific site plan, and commitments that this is the site. I wish we could change it. That would've been the easiest thing to do."

They are shifting the blame to the NWSL. I hope a reporter asks the NWSL if this is true or not. If the city council is being genuine and wanting to pivot to another site they should be allowed to. Instead of everyone in leadership being evil and taking away a public park.

How are they going to ensure long-standing commitments to McCoy Park if it no longer will be a public park? No communication with residents and no plan. Just taking from residents to give to a Billionaire is despicable

Current plans for the public park include playgrounds, basketball courts, a splash pad, adaptive softball field, amputee and blind soccer field, garden, pond/stormwater flooding mitigation, picnic spaces, walking trails, and more.

Using city funding and federal grants.

I have questions.

look, I'm just A Girl, but to me it's a bit of a mustache-twirling villain move to take away the public park with specially-designed areas for disabled members of the community, and give it to a billionaire-backed project to bring an NWSL team.

I can’t get over the NWSL FO/ owners and Jessica looking at this proposal and picking this project. It has so many red flags. They want to be like the men‘s leagues so much they don’t care if they are pushing people away. Profit over people

I submitted a speakers slip to the city clerk at 6:04am this morning in order to testify in person against the NWSL takeover of McCoy Park. The maximum number of speakers (3) in opposition had already been reached.

The attached is my written testimony that has been submitted to City Council.

This is BS from the Haslams.
Burning bridges with the community.
Taking away a public park from the poorest community to build a training center they won’t even pay for themselves. Ohio politics are so twisted because not only are they doing Haslams work for him but they also funding It. Twisted

Residents had worked with the city and have blueprints and some budget to build an accessible park. Now the Haslams are wanting to take the park away from residents with the help of city. And the Haslams won’t pay for the training center they expect the city and county to.
Burning bridges already

Yikes. Terrible ownership. They fly charter so did he not want to pay the cost of more hotel rooms? League doesn’t need cheap owners like this
