I am excited to participate in this upcoming event, "On Intersex Joy."
A great review of my In Defense of Sex by David A Rubin: Rubin, D. A. (2025). Book Review: In Defense of Sex: Nonbinary Embodiment and Desire, By Christopher Breu. Gender & Society, 0(0). doi.org/10.1177/0891...
Just a reminder that those denying trans youth human rights are the same people who defend nonconsensual surgeries on intersex kids. This is not about protecting children. It is about defending an archaic gender and sex regime by further scapegoating an already marginalized population.
Thanks Juan! I love your Introduction too! I cant wait to read more.
I'm proud to have an essay--on materialism in Karen Tei Yamashita's I Hotel--in this collection.

Trump's Executive Order defines “female” as someone who produces eggs & “male” as someone who produces sperm. "My intersex body, like the bodies of many intersex people, does not produce either gametes, arguably leaving us in legal limbo." @xoxykz.bsky.social

A strong 48 hours: Thursday: United Faculty of ISU rally with a huge turnout. Friday: a tentative agreement is reached, averting a strike. Today the "Hands Off Blo-No" rally with more great turnout!
A very generous review of In Defense of Sex: Nonbinary Embodiment and Desire by Sunny Heenen just appeard in the Journal of Gender Studies. Thanks Sunny! Text below.

So, on certain days, Twitch is my favorite Ministry album. Certain their sound really congealed on the next two records, but they were rarely more adventurous or alien sounding than on this album made with the great Adrian Sherwood. #ComparativeListening. youtu.be/n_dwXd0U774?...
There are more serious things to be appalled about about the current horror clowns who are running our country, but perhaps the most annoying is that they remind me of every eugenics-obsessed villain that you couldn't quite take seriously in Resident Evil games. This is determining our future?

Fantastic! Better than I've ever heard them sound.
*Country Life, of course. I am also thinking about making a 33 1/3 proposal on Stranded.
So I've been on a deep Roxy Music kick lately, especiallyearly Roxy. I've been listening to the half-speed remasters, and they sound fantastic! I am most obsessed with Stranded, but maybe Countey Life or the first album are my faves. #comparativelistening
I picked this up at Laurie's Planet of Sound in Chicago. So funky, smart, and nasty! All hail Betty Davis.
