Sitting at the library, pick up a @joeabercrombie.com off the shelf to peruse “How many splinters did the elves break God?”

Me holding my author copy of When the Moon Hits Your Eyes
You know, last year when I wrote a book about the moon turning into cheese, I didn't know that when it came out the most fantastical thing about it would be a functional US government
Everyone’s a reader, they just need to find the right book
I was in Afghanistan in 2016, and had no idea that idiot would invite the people who wanted to kill me and my team to Camp David a couple years later
Fuck you, TurboTax. That is all

Cover of The Wolf and the Wild King by K.V. Johansen. Digital painting also by K.V. Johansen. A winter scene: snow, night, the sky streaked by northern lights. A black wolf, head lowered, warily approaches a sword (of the Carolingian or “Viking” style) leaning against the trunk of a large, ancient, bare-branched tree. The snow is deep, but crusty, with only a thin fresh fall over the crust, disturbed the wolf’s feet. The pommel of the sword is a single, rounded, opaque, deep-blue stone mounted in claws. Dark conifers line the horizon.
I did my own cover art (for various reasons) for The Wolf and the Wild King, which came out from Mystique last November. I was aiming for something a bit more Post-Impressionist than I managed, but I'm reasonably pleased with it. Painted in Krita; my late dog was the model for the wolf.
My novel available in hardcover, paperback, ebook and audiobook.
A graphic of the book When They Arrived with tropes listed in orange text around the book with pink arrows. Orange texts read: it's the future, aliens, true AI no GenAI here, sentient trees, woke AF, multiple POVs including LGBTQ+, pronoun guide, many cultures and beliefs, and hopepunk.
My book that came out in November. I also made the cover for it myself, and I'm pretty proud of that.

Things I need to get better at as a writer: having an elevator pitch ready when someone asks what my book’s about instead of a blank stare paired with, “Oh. Fuck.”
Not much to celebrate lately, but this is special because even the Stoker long list is a big honor and the company is absolutely spectacular. Congrats to these amazing authors.
Being Autistic isn’t an excuse for giving a n*zi salute.
Like this if you love books or think Elon can go fuck himself.
Already at writing group
Nazis: "that's a nazi salute"
Historians: "that's a nazi salute"
Average person: "that's a nazi salute"
The Media: "Elon Musk makes odd gesture throwing his heart to the crowd."
Also, it was a fuckin Nazi salute come the fuck on
Reminder to those who need it:
1. You can mute the name of the current president and/or anyone else you don't want to constantly hear about here
2. You can mute/block/unfollow accounts that impinge on your calm
3. Social media doesn't have to be a doom scroll, curate your feed to make you happy
I need to delete my twitter. Muscle memory moves my thumb to open the floodgates of aneurisms and headaches
