It was a real privilege to talk with the incredible artist Alex Garant on her new podcast #spillthepaint . Usually on such things I talk about my background, my inspiration, and my career. Alex cut right to the chase and was much more interested in the specifics of how I make my paintings.
If you’re in LA, go check out the @thinkspace-art.bsky.social 20th show over at the Brand Library and Art Center in Glendale (info in images)
This is an amazing installation by artist Darrel Carrey. It hurts the eyes
There’s my painting too. I love herons and bats.
I began this painting before the fires in LA started, and finished it after. I made it for the Thinkspace Projects 20th anniversary show, and I meant it as a celebration of Los Angeles, where Thinkspace has carved out a home in the art world for an impressive 20 years, and where I have lived for 6.
Oil painting featuring a futsu pumpkin, green bottle, mirrored bauble, moomin toy holding an Apple, a coloured sand bottle, and marbles, all on top of a wooden Fry’s Cocoa box and behind these items is an open yellow book (The Wizard of Oz) with green page edges. There is a green crocheted blanket with red, white and black trim as the back drop. In front of the Cocoa box is a green striped pumpkin. The painting is on a desk with a full palette and the painting set up behind it.
Hi everyone. I’m an artist/illustrator working primarily in oil and acrylic paint, and I’m also a software engineer interested in game dev and front end.
@nathanhoad.bsky.social told me to sign up so here I am 😸🎨 this is my latest painting, The Emerald City.
Thanks for sharing this!

Excited to be a part of a milestone year. Been a part of the gallery for nearly 4 years. Happy to have met heroes and made friends through this gallery.
Redoing the cover art for my graphic novel Polloman coming 2026, so thought I'd share the current cover.
I finally got the book back from my amazing editors at Harper Alley and all that's left is a few cuts and edits to begin inking this 280 paged beast!
Plume focuses on Southern California ecology and shows the costly demands of society on our mental health and environments. The body of work explores this concept with the contrasting imagery of local flora and fauna and the surreal plumes of smoke that emanate from them.
Recently delivered a new body of work at John Wayne Airport in Orange County, CA.
If you’re in the area, it’s on view in the terminal A+B baggage area (lower level), no ticket required $4 parking.
30% of sales will go to Wetlands and Wildlife Care Center, a local wildlife rehab center.
An illustration for Nawalli: The Aztec Card game, inspired by old video game magazine ads✨
I’ve been avoiding social media posting for awhile, just trying to focus on life. But I’ve been working on a new body of work focused on environmental/wildlife issues. Here’s some old stuff ✨

A screenshot of a preview of Kickstarter for Nawalli: The Aztec Card Game 2nd Edition by Gonzalo Alvarez. At the top left you there's the square box that holds the game. To the right, there's the official poster showing a battle field using the game board. And different creatures battling on each side of the board. It's a promotional image announcing their Kickstarter coming on June 6th to be able to produce a 2nd edition with some updates to the game!
Hi dear friends, could I ask for your help to share this? My friend @gonzzink.bsky.social is launching a KS for the 2nd Ed. of his game "Nawalli". An Aztec inspired card game!
It goes live on June 6th! Here's the link where you can follow this project:

Happy tiara Tuesday y’all! I found these bay wings in my stash and so another Halloween tiara it is! 🦇🦇👑
Was excited about this new place, and instantly forgot about it like a chump.
Here’s some small bits in pantings I’ve been working on✨
This was an excellent time, I miss these friends.
I’m missing y’all a whole bunch
Haha she hates being held, but she’ll mostly tolerate it
Thanks so much, Susan! Yeah I’m glad I was able to get these photos with the people+dog I painted :)
Hi all! I’m Cody Jimenez, a Mexican-American artist focusing on Imaginative Realism. Here’s some of my work from my solo show in a Los Angeles museum earlier this year.
I’m happy to share some of my work in a new space!
A girl standing at the beach. Ocean behind her with a bright blue sky. Seagulls fly in the distance. Around her she is lost in the confusion from her delusions and trauma. A shadow figure stands over her connecting with her own shadow. Within that shadow little hands attach themselves onto her legs. She stands there staring at the viewer holding the hand of the shadow and in the other her ocean floaty.
This one was rough it opened a lot of emotions & memories thats been clogging my mind. I feel a sense of relief I can let go of more of my guilt due to how I lost my father. I feel more kind to my inner child than ashamed.
Remember to do something kind for someone today. 🌞 Let's all grow together.
