I find SO MANY great book recommendations thanks to The Big Idea feature on John Scalzi's blog, Whatever! whatever.scalzi.com/category/big...

Better than Waffle House, not as good as IHOP.
I'm setting my time machine to go back and experience our insightful conversation again!

Librarians, assemble! I'm putting together my roster of authors to feature on the podcast over the summer. What suggestions do you have for authors who have books coming out this summer / fall?
When I go for a run in the park and I pass by someone with a dog, I always smile and wave at the dog. Sometimes I acknowledge the human with a smile and / or a nod.
7. Captain America: Brave New World
6. Fantastic Four: First Steps
5. Black Widow
4. Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings
3. Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 3
2. Spider-Man: No Way Home
1. Thunderbolts*
If we were counting the animated Spider-Verse movies, they would be on top.
I won't go through all bajillion movies, but here's my ranking for post-Endgame MCU movies:
13. The Eternals
12. Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania
11. Thor: Love and Thunder
10. The Marvels
9. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever
8. Dr. Strange in the Multiverse of Madness
While my daughter was at prom last night and our son was busy playing video games with his friend, my wife and I rewatched THUNDERBOLTS*. It is my favorite post-Endgame MCU movie and holds up to multiple viewings!
My daughter had her senior prom last night. Her SPED class went together as a group and had a great time!
My sweet, wonderful daughter was recognized by her school district as a recipient of their Caring Award! Two elementary school students, two middle school students, and two high school students were chosen as winners, out of 178,000+ students in the district. www.gcpsk12.org/get-connecte...
But happy to have you on my podcast for my Summer Reading Spectacular to help reach the librarian audience!
It's not that windy outside, but you've got a couple of wispy hairs that look like... antennae?
I do have authors on my library podcast each summer, and if I had her on, @premeemohamed.com would be the first giant bug on the show as a guest. If she was a bug. Which she probably isn't. Right?
MUST. DENY. PERSONAL. SUCCESS.
I started to write a reply to this with the "NYT Bestselling Authors" I've had on in the past to show how infrequently it happens... but then my humility kicked in when I started counting. 😬
When I have an author on the podcast, it is generally someone on the midlist. This is not a complaint. Big Name Authors get PLENTY of publicity already!
However, I just took a shot to schedule a Big Name Author to kick off the podcast's summer reading series. Will I be successful? 🤷🏻♂️

In this new episode, I chat with Alex Segura about how Daredevil’s dual life as a defense attorney and vigilante makes him uniquely suited for legal thrillers, his journey from comics fan to writer of Star Wars and Dick Tracy, and the creative challenges of writing beloved characters you don’t own.

I hope this doesn't affect her upcoming role as a Whammy on the new season of Press Your Luck.
The situations were absurdly comical, but the college backdrop of Greendale on Community wasn't too far off from the truth!
My podcast interview with you will drop on the same day!
This story by @sheinvestigates.bsky.social is so so good and so so upsetting. Get ready to have your head explode

I'm planning on writing a blog post about how to support laid off library workers. I'd be excited to hear your ideas or examples! 📚
It is really weird to me when people don’t like reading and books.
I get not having enough time to read. I get wanting to read more, but there are just too many distractions around you. Obviously, I get having disabilities that make it difficult to read.
But just not liking books? Who are you?
