This is an opportunity for bold generational reform, not tinkering around the edges.

Momentum is growing for significant tax reform in the May budget.

Dozens of groups are today calling for a tax on gas exports of at least 25% - a move that would raise $17 billion each year.

We heard they are cutting the snow gums on Mt Macedon & anyone going onto the site will be arrested. Was feeling forlorn. Got a fire call up in the pine plantation. Working with good folks & being focused on driving the tanker on dirt tracks weirdly helped with my mood. Back to the mountain tomorrow

Orban's Australian sycophants Australians welcoming the defeat of our nascent religious right in the May election need to pay attention to the echoes of the American right wing strategies looming ahead of their 2024 election, and the faction in Australia that shares those goals.

Orban's crushing defeat is a huge loss for Australia's authoritarian right. His fans here include Abbott, Downer, Kevin Andrews, Brian Loughnane (former Liberal party national director) and Greg Sheridan, along with less prominent but highly influential figures
