I fully agree. Also, when I was blogging, I’d post often. But with newsletters, I keep second-guessing myself for precisely that reason. I have to ask myself if a particular piece of writing is worth adding to people’s inboxes, etc. I went on newsletter hiatus in part because I can’t figure it out.

I *loved* my blog reader back in the day. I agree with you, but I’m playing the new game now.
I’m glad you loved it too! It went deep enough and was charming enough that I really forgot my stress about the American dumpster fire for a few minutes. I’m thinking of becoming a paid subscriber.
Hmm. I still get this:
Oh, amazing! I’ll try again.
Is it available in Canada? It doesn’t show up for me.
The vegan part is a great contribution, though, not to be minimized! We are…not so great in that area.

Part of the problem is that you may very well regret ending up $60,000 in debt with an unfinished degree or the inability to find a job. This would be much less of an issue if the US had free or low-cost higher education.
Thanks, Susan!
I loved this book.

This is how the trajectory has panned out for me 🤣.
Wow, you had me at petrichor. I didn’t even know there were perfumes like that.
I’m happy to be able to share the cover of You Never Know What You’re Going to Get, an anthology of middle grade short stories that includes a story of mine. The collection is published by Chalkboard Publishing and will be released May 2nd, 2025.
Just in time for the solstice tomorrow, I receive my copy of this sweet little anthology with my poem “Return of the Sun.” Very much looking forward to sitting down and reading the rest of it!”
On this Giving Tuesday, François Vigneault and I are delighted to announce that our pay-what-you-like downloadable nature calendar has earned $500 in donations for Nature Conservancy Canada. Thanks so much to our supporters!
I just sent out my one-month-late autumn equinox newsletter 🤣. This one features a beautiful interview with author @katejenkslandry.bsky.social. Read here: mailchi.mp/59119dd6b35f...
Scholastic asks, "Do you want to opt out of 'diverse' books at your school's next book fair?" Your participation in white supremacy has never been easier, just uncheck the 'diverse' books box– poof, no problems. 🙄
Congratulations! That’s wonderful!
