Also it *might* be the case that a bunch of things that were fun with small kids (trips to the zoo) might be a great way to pass the time and give them a smile.

A suggestion I read elsewhere: a print subscription to the Onion. Keep a copy in the car, keep a copy somewhere in the house where your loved ones can find it. They'll find it funny every time. :-)

Coffee table books like Cake Wrecks might also be fun for the same reason.

When we got to the point that we couldn't play co-op beat em ups very much (because they had to carry me) was rough.

I still want to go back to Unraveled 2 and finish that, though.

Dad 2 dad here (mine are 17 and 20).

Scheduling with them (How about Thursday night?) helps, and then you can also take pride in them developing their own friendships.

I pick different shows we can watch together as a "low planning" activity when we're both free.

Nice work, dad. :-)

I saw another actress did the same pitch, and I'm wondering if these are former A-listers who've taken a couple of steps down, career-wise.

I was just talking about this!

The movie made some good cuts (the weird coma gene thing didn't add much) some questionable cuts (the first five minutes of the movie cover maybe three chapters of the book) and... They kind of nerfed Strat.

My wife and I moved to Coke Zero after initially trying it as kind of a joke (it was called out in the Scott Pilgrim movie).

Now we find "fully leaded" Coke just way too sweet.

My daughter will be starting at a SLAC in the fall, but every single large state school we visited pitched us on their "honors college," and every one used the same words: "It's like the experience of a SLAC with the resources of a major research university."

Hmm

I really, really wanted the Deadpool / Wolverine movie to have the entire Nicole Kidman bit, but with Deadpool instead. I would have paid extra to see that.

To the ER, just like we planned. Was it fun? No. Were we sad? Yes.

But she got lots of great drugs, was held and petted really nicely, and by the time we were driving home we already were feeling better. 3/3

So we talked it over and agreed that the next time this happened, we would take her to the ER and have her put down gracefully.

Her last months were great! Happy girl, crazy about the raw rabbit diet, very playful.

The next time the leg thing happened, we had the kids say goodbye and took her 2/

No one likes losing a pet, but the best loss we ever had was a planned one.

Our kitty had hidden in a closet, and was dragging a foot behind her. We got her to the ER and they were able to help her, but told us this would happen again and would eventually kill her... 1/2
