Ireland has so many untold stories.
Thanks to the work of Screen Cork, Screen Waterford and Screen Kerry four of these stories will come to life on our screens over the next year.
This is all part of deascéal a new short film funding and development scheme launched last night in Cork City Hall.

I was also asked this on RTÉ’s Late Debate on Wednesday.
There are sharp differences in a number of areas including climate, migration, LGBTQ+ rights, drugs policy etc.
Some journalists equate cooperation between parties with political uniformity. This is a lazy analysis.
The Social Democrats are what it says on the tin. Economically left, socially liberal, environmentally conscious and feminist.
Sinn Fein are populist nationalists.
We differ on many fronts.
I was delighted to host a group of public health doctors in Leinster House today.
We have to take concrete steps to bridge the gaps between health politics, policy and practice.
By working together we can improve health outcomes for everybody in Ireland.
Well done to the newly qualified paramedics on getting this decision reversed 👏
I was delighted to support the protest outside Leinster House and to raise the issue directly with the Tánaiste on the floor of the Dáil last Thursday.
Five years ago, the Taoiseach announced that Cork would get a new city library.
But, like so many capital projects for Cork it’s nowhere to be seen.
We’re fed up of waiting.

Tomorrow, the Dáil will debate a Soc Dems' motion on expanding access to general practitioner care in Ireland.
We have a 20-point plan to fix the GP crisis.

The news of an arson attack in Ballyphehane is shocking and concerning.
I want to wish those who are injured a speedy recovery.
I also want to commend the local fire brigade for getting the fire under control so quickly.

Ten years after the sod was turned, Cork still has no Event Centre.
Just a derelict site and a bridge to nowhere in the heart of the city.
Cork deserves delivery, not another decade of broken promises.
Everything Dan Ennis does, he does it with enormous heart. đź’ś Proud every day to call him a friend, even prouder still to see the work he does across the community.
Politics needs more people like Daniel at the highest levels- Let’s move mountains to see him win the bye-election in Dublin Central. 💜
Maria Steen was on RTÉ Radio 1, the country’s most listened to radio station, this morning lamenting the lack of conservative voices in our national media.
She then read from an article by Brenda Power, published in the most widely read national newspaper.

In 2019, a policy for improving Ireland's public dental service was published.
Yet seven years later, there's no implementation plan.
Even the priority actions in the policy – set to be completed by 2022 – are now not due for completion until 2029.
Is it any wonder dental services are in crisis?
The crisis in public dental services has continued to deepen under this govt.
Seven years on from publication of the National Oral Health Policy, we are still waiting on an implementation plan.

This week I signed the Roll of Members at Leinster House to officially become a member of the 34th Dáil.
Thanks to the Clerk of the Dáil and all the staff in Leinster House for the warm welcome back.
I’m really looking forward to getting stuck in to this new role as a TD for Cork South Central.
