I live in an area that doesn’t see much sun in the winter and our high temps for the last week have been below freezing. This is lovely 💜

And differing political views is not a small thing today. My husband and I are different and twenty years ago that wasn’t such a big deal. I’m very glad he hasn’t bought into the MAGA bs and really just hates politics all together.

The goal of the GOP must really be to keep people dumb. Michigan’s GOP legislators just introduced a bill to phase out property taxes earmarked for education. How does that help educate the children of our state??

I’m so glad my state health dept has already announced they’re using recommendations from the associations for pediatrics and family practice.

I’ve never heard of the movie that was #1 on my tenth birthday so 🤷‍♀️

So funny! We drive through as fast as the troopers will allow. We live in Michigan but my husband’s family is in Pennsylvania so it’s a necessary route.

Our church is doing an advent series and devotional on fear. It’s been so wonderful.

The summer that I turned 9, my dad took a sabbatical to work there. I remember how beautiful it was up there and a few times mom drove us up to eat lunch with him and enjoy the view.

So true. My dad is the middle of 7 and his older brother died last year-the first of that generation. The realization that this next generation of my family was going hit really hard. Hugs to you.

Please continue because we’ve got folks that keep saying “we’re finally being respected again after four years under Biden.” They’re so delusional.

So true! And those people expect a 3 mile long project to be done instantly. Find some patience people!

My neighbor is one of those. Thank God she’s retired. She’s also against chemo as a cancer survivor so I don’t know how she squares her whole existence.

Yeah, we’re in the middle of a two year project on a major road near me. The amount of whining is unbelievable!
I can’t turn where I want to. The plows are just going to tear up the barricades. The salt is going to kill the plants. Etc etc

My memory is very visual so yes, I can’t find things when they change the way they look. I would color my anatomy diagrams and remember that the orange muscle was the deltoid etc.

Also, I’d want to know why we’re pardoning convicted drug traffickers. This is all so bizarre.

Sometimes cranking music helps and sometimes setting a 15 minute timer. Or both 🤷‍♀️
I also set Monday as laundry day so no matter what, I at least get started, even if not all the loads get finished until Tuesday.

How wonderful. Those specialists were some of the kindest docs to consult on my patients.

Pasties are very much a thing in certain parts of the US. If you travel to Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, you’re obligated to have one. I’m told it’s because a lot of Cornish miners immigrated to that area.

Please pray today for the school that I aide at-the staff and the students. We are remembering a preschooler that was hit by a truck and killed. The funeral is this afternoon and we’re struggling. Also pray for her family and the neighbor who hit her and his family. One moment of looking the other

millage was fierce and it failed. We have a lady trying to organize volunteers to read to students under the guise of improving literacy so she can make sure they’re not reading woke books. We’re on the edge of slipping backwards so I’m not convinced that this lesson has taken hold.

It’s good but I think it’s overestimating the pendulum swing. I live in a district that’s pretty rural but becoming suburban as the city spreads. Our state rep and state senator are Republican. Last year 1 of 3 school board members voted in was far right. This year the opposition to the school

It is terrifying the give RFK Jr or someone similar that much power. He’s already wreaking so much havoc.

If they’re going to make the seats smaller and the leg room shorter, I’m going for comfy.
I was also told once that you shouldn’t wear heels or flip flops on planes in case you must evacuate down the slides.

That looks so good! I usually do my aunt’s raisin sauce with a ham, but this would be a great change.

do visit, they come for a shorter duration and make sure we don’t have many things going on. It’s like they can’t handle the chaos of a busy schedule anymore.
When they finally came to see us before she left for college, it was only for 4 days over Labor Day weekend.

We started talking to them about it last Christmas, had the date picked out for a couple months, gave them the option of coming for the ceremony or the party and they chose neither.
I think the thought of being around so many other people was too much for my mil. I’ve noticed that when they

This issue was from last May-thank you though.
I think it was really an anxiety issue for my mil. She doesn’t seem to be doing well with things out of her normal routine.
My daughter is pretty laid back and shrugged it off. They did come for a quick visit in September before she left for college.
