The City of Somerville Office of Immigrant Affairs hosted a Community Lantern Night for our Chinese American older adults. Somerville Police Officer Al Gee provided transportation, helped folks make the lanterns, and engaged the participants in their native Chinese language. What a great time!

In a joint effort, the Somerville Police Department, Somerville Fire Department and Massachusetts State Fire Marshal announce an arrest has been made in relation to a fire that destroyed a home under construction at 75 Thurston St on August 20, 2025. Police arrested John Grasso (35) who is currently unhoused for Wanton Destruction of Property and Breaking and Entering a Building in the Nighttime. The incident remains under investigation.
