haven't read any of the books I have to say, are they worth a look? and yeah at this point it's definitely stretching credibility for them all to be in Slough House still, but it's too much fun for me to care too much

love that we're five seasons into Slow Horses and they all still absolutely hate each other. a lesser show would have had them develop a level of respect, even affection. Gary Oldman would have softened into a lovable curmudgeon. but no, he's still a total dick and everyone's pissed off all the time

Absolutely.

The fuck.

Not.

And any of my countryfolk knowingly deciding to vote for surrendering yet more of our culture to English millionaires who would be happier if we all died are clearly a bigger threat to our nation than any immigrant.

Nothing will convince me that Mahmood isn't a Reform plant at this stage. This isn't about how she looks, race, religion or anything else. It is that she is implementing abhorrently racist and xenophobic policies while telling those who point out that they are such to fuck off. Hardly a winning plan

Reading @kymdeyn.bsky.social's 'Folkish' and whispering "fuck offfff" after every poem because it's just so good.

Not to be a broken record, but why on earth is Ed Balls there interviewing his wife's work colleagues about a scandal involving the government department she currently runs?

He was told to stop the child abuse images on his site but instead he monetised them. Perhaps consider bringing back the Guillotine for this?

"average New Labour minister causes 3 scandals" factoid actualy just statistical error. average minister causes 0 scandals. Scandals Peter, who lives in cave & causes over 10,000 each day, is an outlier adn should not have been counted

The decision to repeatedly deploy 250+ cops armed with PAVA spray, tasers, batons, horses, and dogs to force through a group of 30-40 fascists against hundreds of counterprotestors has to be understood not just as the cops "protecting" the fash but actively behaving as their enforcers.

Daughter calls for investigation into death of man after police contact at Bristol protest Exclusive: Retired NHS worker Nicholas Stone died after becoming unwell at protest against far-right Bristol Patriots

Antifascists like me kept saying, for a year and change, that Avon & Somerset Police's political decisions and use of force to enable Bristol Patriots would end up with someone dead. Well, the cops got what they wanted.

it's so cool how every time some centrist opines on JK Rowling they're like "i would simply try to reach common ground with her"

like do you think nobody's ever tried that before. do you think none of us ever tried to appease the bigots until you came along with your big smart genius brain?

I remember when the LGB Alliance first formed and they were almost universally mocked - the name itself makes it very clear what theyโ€™re doing! Itโ€™s not subtle! Now we have Scottish Labour MPs speaking at their conference.
