I feel ya. It's wrong to bury our heads in the sand, but leaving them OUT of the sand is a good way to breathe the pollution. If you find a middle way, please share.

<3 me some DvD! Not only do these visuals still hold up beautifully (take THAT, CGI) but their sheer length is a reminder that kids used to have a far, far longer attention span than any of us, at any age, do today.

It just means “pronounce this letter”. But it’s kinda pretentious. Not exactly the stuff of the common man

Why? Clickbait. People are nosy and go “oooh isn’t that the guy who did something pervy?” -click

Hey, Bluesky. Here's some more #throwback #art: Most '70s kids were satisfied with the Six Million Dollar Man, but not me! It seems I had to have a Billion Dollar Bear. DUH, it's more expensive. You lose a lot of money in a bear market.

Thespian friends of Bluesky: who wants to put on a play, titled "PLAY", that I wrote when I was 6? 🤔 It's an enigmatic, minimalist work featuring the intriguing stage direction "CAPTAIN (in a sweaty voice)". Uh, what?

#throwback #art time, Bluesky! Here‘s something right outta 1976: possibly my first attempt to draw folds of drapery... and a viciously screaming eagle. Hmmmm… that eagle looks suspiciously like a different bird I drew 44 years later.

I'm pretty sure it can be both. If someone greases a pig and hurls it into the clean room... the pig itself has no plan

I like the little nod to "Guernica" in panel 2

I actually have it on personal knowledge that tequila does NOT actually pair well with chocolate (in the form of Ho-Ho's). In the immediate short-term it seems like an attractive combo but let's just say the two don't like to stay together for long.

Puzzled, you say? Puzzling, is it? Health officials wonder what could be causing this?

Ah! I see. Well, in my case it's not like I would do anything differently just because someone is seeing it, so it isn't stressful for me. But everybody's different! I promise I'll never watch you type LOL

Watching someone do art is stressful, or business planning is stressful?

I suppose it could be both!

Amazing that you say this! I was just writing notes for a business plan I have—I'm an illustrator and not really versed in selling fine art. So one of the things Id like to try is having buyers hang out with me while I work on their stuff. The question was: would anyone go for that? sounds like yes!

3. WRISTWATCH REVIVAL - It starts small. "Oh, I'll just watch this nice man for five minutes". Two, three hours later, you know the difference between old and new style mainsprings, how to clean and oil shock-protected jewel bearings, and what the keyless works are. BOING! You're a watch nerd.

2. MY MECHANICS - Is a small but crucial part of your [antique coffee grinder, metalworking shear, Datsun 240Z] missing? I make a new one! As long as I've been watching this skillful fellow's channel, I still don't know his name. But whatever. He works a mean lathe and gets rid of all sharp edges.

1. FOOD WISHES - Oh yeah, that's right, it's Chef John! The world's favorite pair of disembodied hands prepares delicious food from Avoglemono to Zabaglione, all narrated in a soothing singsong.

Sometimes, when this world gets too stressful, you just want to plop down in front of a video where something delightful happens right before your eyes. And by "you", I mean "I". Here are three channels I recommend as an escape from grim reality.
