And describing her as a (proto) goth! Loving that. I've seen a few photos that speak to that phase in her life but it's the first time I've read that sort of description of her.
Right? I love that Mo got a lot of love in this article!
Let's continue this important conversation about women in the #Beatles story - and as connected to the 2028 biopics. Thanks to Times journalist Lisa Verrico for reaching out to me for comment. www.thetimes.com/culture/musi...
That's great to hear - thanks so much!
Thanks so much, Paul! Sorry for the late reply but I haven't been on here for a while.
What a thrill and honour to speak with internationally acclaimed Irish author Colm Tóibín for RTE's Culture File Presents: The Confort Zone. We talked women and the Beatles through the lens of the Beatles '64 doco and my book.
RIP Terence Stamp. He was one the very best. I will be playing "Waterloo Sunset" in his honour today. ❤️
Live Aid was 40 years ago today! Hard to believe it happened so long ago. U2's "Bad" was the stand-out moment for me and my friends. ✨️

I couldn't agree more! I actually really love some of her music and love her art and intellect even more. I think she's brilliant! You'd really enjoy the new biography.
Happy 83rd birthday to the always brilliant and beautiful Sir Paul. ❤️✨️👍🙏
Brian Wilson and the Beach Boys' story reflects the best of US culture during the 20th century: the drive to creativity, representing local experience, and connecting with the wider world through music. Thank you, Brian. You channeled and manifested something truly special. ❤ ✨️🙏
Oh, yes! Of course. 😉
*for 😂😂😂
I'm delighted! What a nice surprise. Thanks fur bringing this to my attention, Chris. 💫
Lovely! So nice to be mentioned in such illustrious company. Thank you for the acknowledgement and I'm really looking forward to reading your book, @stuartmaconie.bsky.social. I'm hearing great things!
Wouldn't that be incredible?
It was great to see AKOM and BC the Beatles mentioned.
Thank you, Laura. I appreciate your explanation and do hope that change happens sooner versus later. In the meantime, I think it's still necessary to foreground and celebrate women writing about the Beatles (no matter their focus/ specialisation).
For example: The Beatles and the Historians by Erin Weber and Beatleness by Candy Leonard, to name a few authors and titles. There are quite a few more.
The phrasing lends itself to that interpretation, as I'm not the only one who read it that way. I definitely do appreciate the intention of the article. It's an argument I also make in my book: there are actually a number of women Beatles scholars/authors doing great work, but men are the "experts."
Thanks, Tim!
Thanks for the positive mention of my book in this article, @ladymissbarton.bsky.social. It's disappointing, though, that you don't see me as a Beatles expert. Seems to add to the problem you are pointing out. Don't think you realised... www.independent.co.uk/arts-enterta...
Lovely news! Congratulations, Amy @smallmegapixel.bsky.social!
