Your 🎯 writing deserves to be read way beyond Twitter. And there's a sizeable and growing community of C/LC folks here now.
And I can’t shake the feeling that Covid did not just pass through us. It altered how we process emotion. How we read one another in the space between words. It shortened patience. It thinned empathy until it moves through us without weight or warmth. The invisible threads that once bound people together now fray the moment they begin.

Sometimes I wonder if it is just me. Or if something fundamental broke inside every one of us the moment Covid arrived. I had a baby in 2020, and somewhere between the raw survival of newborn nights and Long Covid illness, the world slipped out of alignment. Now I can’t tell what changed more, me or the rest of humanity. I still try to build friendships. They begin warm, effortless, almost luminous. Then something falters. A tone lands wrong. Or a silence between us stretches one heartbeat too long. And just like that, they vanish from my life.

Fierce either way. 😉
Thank you for this visual metaphor, Dr. Fernando. 🤣 & 🎯
Me looking at the hectic Monday I planned by mistake.
This is a 'gossamer worm' (genus Tomopteris) & unlike their benthic polychaete cousins they live their whole lives floating free in ocean currents (holoplanktonic).
They're bioluminescent, with a fluid-filled central coelom & a thin layer of muscle driving their parapodia (paddles?)

My optometrist is still rocking an N95 in 2026. Every year. He cares & it shows. I actually look forward to my annual eye exams because I am safe & the ventilation is good too. Plus, fun new glasses 🤓

Risk assessment of cardiac arrhythmias in the early post-COVID-19 period in non-hospitalized patients—long-term data from the PoLoCOV-CVD study 🚨I’ve warned you already many times: Mild COVID = HEART RISK! ➡️Interesting Polish study analysed 893 non-hospitalized adults with no prior cardiovascular disease (CVD) who had confirmed COVID-19 and were evaluated ~12 weeks post-infection via 12-lead ECG and 24-hour Holter monitoring,

We now have a complementary study that helps extend the picture. If the first paper suggests post-COVID biology may exist on a spectrum, this second one suggests recovery itself may also be real, prolonged, and only partial.🧵

Three examples that show the lack of integrity at HHS under RFK Jr:
1. Claimed that 10 kids died because of the COVID19 vaccine, never produced data.
2. Believe that glyphosate causes cancer, say nothing when Trump orders more.
3. Say that leucovorin treats autism, no FDA approval for this.
This is what happens when they gain power.

It’s simple. Social media shitbirds with no knowledge, training or experience in public health should not be setting US policy.
They got their jobs because of their successful click-n-like harvesting, and that’s also they do their jobs.
There is nothing but incompetence behind the facade.
Erin, suffering from Long COVlD eyes, made a selfie wearing a black Facemoon KN95 respirator with a matching black T-shirt, while sitting inside a car.
“Something like 50% of COVlD cases are asymptomatic now, so it's impossible to know who’s contagious. Masking is just plain common sense.”—Erin Ahrens @erin7696.bsky.social is devastated by #LongCOVID eyes, in addition to a serious C19-exacerbated chronic condition.

💯
Lots and lots of receipts of people telling the experts & authorities who dismissed all of this from the start that they were wrong about it.
Sadly, the notion of accountability in systems that rely on conformity is basically as delusional. Can't go wrong doing the wrong-but-authorized thing.
I wonder if people realise that when we build walls to keep everyone out, we also lock ourselves in?
What questions do you have from Zdenek's summary of that research? (Zdenek's take is in the threadreader link above)
"Medical institutions must educate staff that Long COVID is a disabling condition affecting up to 40% of healthcare workers who contracted and continue to contract COVID-19 while working in hospitals that have failed to control the spread of the virus and other pathogens."

"6 years later, COVID-19 continues spreading, killing, and disabling people, but many of my colleagues ignore it. Last December, a colleague said, “We can’t keep doing this. COVID is basically over”

Arrogance, ignorance, incompetence and failure are the defining characteristics of infection control leadership today. It's where Dunning-Kruger fails upwards.
The blood of millions is on their hands - and the inaction of medical disciplinary bodies makes loss of public trust the rational response.
The lack of consequences for bad behaviour is a really big… global scale big… issue.
Would people be so happy to cause damage and loss of productivity if they could be sued for it?
