New work for a national ad campaign- I created these to support a set of TV spots, working with creative leads and photographers to establish a look that matched the high-key commercial style. This all resulted in a whopping 200+ assets for digital signage, social media ads, Netflix ads and more.

Thinking a lot about hot metal typesetters lately.

Now people can bypass all the emails, the contracts, the meetings with the designer/illustrator. Get something that does the job done. Save quite a lot of money in the process.

I’m thinking of all sorts of meetings I’ve been in where I’m dealing with people who don’t care about the design, the rationale for the look, etc. They want something nice looking to sell their stuff. Sometimes I felt like a roadblock in those meetings.

In the span of a few weeks you see CommArts defending their inclusion of AI artwork. Pentagram writes a case study about using Midjourney to create an illustration system for a big project.

These were all drawn by hand on 13x19” sheets, scanned, vectorized and colored digitally, then printed on huge vinyl sheets. Rough guess, the physical drawings were 400 x 19” in total!

Love being an in-house designer because we get to cover such a wide range of projects. Sometimes you even get to create a series of murals for a new building. No pressure o__o’
