How did you guys improve at art? Did you just draw what you like? did you do art studies? basically what was your process if you had/have one

i didn't go into more specified art studies; instead i like to draw a lot of the things i like to draw in one page and see when i start to relapse on designs, and then i start drawing things that are usually out of my comfort zone and start practicing those. then again, I'm not the best in my field.
